I'm not doubting you, just wondering where you were getting your info. I looked at the official acceptance thread from last year, and it looks like only 1 person on that thread got a phone call september 1st. Everyone else was 10th of September or later:

Yeah no kidding. I went and addressed letters with stamps and handed it to him this morning. He apologized and said he's had them done for a while but got caught up with the building. In his defense, the building is a mess with boxes everywhere. Classes started yesterday, but my first lab won't start for another 3 weeks they anticipate.

My other LoR writer won't be back until Friday it sounds like. And even then, it will be weird to say, "I'm sorry about your Dad, can you write that LoR for me now?" I mean, I gave her tons of time, and maybe like my other prof she has it done, and maybe she even sent it and I don't know, but who knows! She never emailed me letting me know they were sent. Ahhh dilemmas.

My pod said he sent my letters like the first week of August (I think he sent my one to DMU at the end of July! :laugh:) So I should be good to go there!

Look for at the original interview one , most people were reporting invites on sep 2-9 http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=853414&highlight=Interviews
 
Sent out my LORS to Scholl, DMU, Barry, CSPM and KSUCPM today. Cost $30 for priority mail w tracking 🙂
 
I am having a lot of trouble getting my undergrad school to send my transcripts...,I submitted my app on the 5th yet they still have not received my transcripts. I have had 3 copies sent...this is getting rediculous!

Have you called AACPMAS? Maybe they screwed something up/didn't update your app?
 
I called but the woman at AACPMAS told me that they get too much mail right now to be able to tell me if they have received anything that is not listed as "received." So I just requested another transcript to be sent from my undergrad school and hope that it works this time....I am losing valuable time though 👎

I mean, i'm as excited (if not MORE!) as the next guy to get an interview/acceptance early, but I'm not sure if the time is all that "valuable" yet. I don't think I'd pay another $5 (at my school) to send transcripts when it means waiting another week. Time is only valuable in this process around April/May.
 
Yea but over 3 weeks to process the first transcripts I sent? My transcripts from EMT school and Respiratory school each made it to AACPMAS and were posted within 12 days....I'm just tired of checking every day to see "not received" in the transcripts tab by my undergrad school lol

My LOR sitch: I ordinarily would have said, yes, all my LORs are sent in. However I got an email about an hour ago from one of my professors saying he has written the LoRs, but hasn't been able to find official college envelopes/letterhead. I imagine a similar story is true with my other prof (coincidentally whose father passed away last week...). The science building at my school went through a complete renovation over the summer and the professors were only allowed to return to the building at the beginning of last week. So they've been busy unpacking and getting settled in the new building and it has put my LoR on the back burner I guess. I asked for the LoRs about 2 months ago, but i figured this would happen. Im not really all that upset about it - I've heard of interviewing without LoRs and without MCAT, so I should be fine!

I'm in same boat, I have 2 LOR's, and 1 prof poking it.

I'm going to email him again right now...
 
LORs are starting to worry me. One of mine is a for sure because I talked to him and he was all pumped. The other is from a professor I did research with and she told me when I was leaving the lab that she would be happy to write me one. I emailed her last week to see if she would write one (I emailed because she is never in her office..) and told her I would like it by mid September. She never emailed me back. And then I went to school today and she wasn't there and the grad students said she is a out to leave to go over seas for a conference so she is super busy right now... Now I'm thinking it's gonna be forever before he writes me one. Do you guys think I should email her again? I was going to email her again tomorrow just to check in.
 
One of the schools emailed me notifying that they had received my application this morning. I guess AACPMAS did a bulk email this morning? Not sure why it doesn't say that on under "Mailed Date" or "Mailing Status"...

Holy smokes! That's crazy that apps are starting to trickle into the schools! Dang!! So maybe the rest of us will start hearing back soon too?!

I am, its my first choice actually, and I emailed the admissions recruiter to see if they had received my LOR's from a pod I shadowed and my micro professor, he talked to the admissions lady over transcripts/LOR's/apps and this was what she wrote:

No I don't have anything. The cycle will officially open tomorrow with verified application made available September 5. We are currently processing this information. Once an applicant's file is processed (meaning we have received their verified application and started a file for them) this student will be notified of all received documentation including their LORS.

Sorry I think she was dillusional. I didn't even apply to kent/ohio but sent LORS there before I decided what schools I was applying to; I received an email saying they recieved the letters almost two weeks ago..

If what you're saying is true, and this is a school-wide thing and not just a kent state thing, why wouldn't AACPMAS just tell us the first batch goes out on Sept 5? What's the point of secrecy?!? It just seems odd, that's all.
 
I applied Western, but have not received a email, but it also shows no date of mailing out on aacpm. I think maybe I'll be next batch.

For those that have recieved a email, does it show it as mailed on aacpm?
 
Are any of them interview invites? Or just confirmation of application?
 
One was a confirmation. I got a couple interview invites already.
 
I just checked to see if I had put my email in correctly on my application because I was feeling left out! haha

From what I've heard, no one has heard anything from Scholl, DMU, or AZPOD, right?

Sounds like Western and NYCPM are the only ones that have seen apps?
 
Where in the application did you guys put undergraduate research experience? Non of the categories seem to fit it.. I would put it under work experience because it was basic science research and not healthcare related, but I wasn't employed since I was a volunteer. It doesn't seem like it gits with extra curric because it wasn't done in the community as the description on the application says.. Any help?

Nope, it doesn't say anything under mailing date on AACPMAS. I am confident that the schools have my application and that AACPMAS did a bulk mailing yesterday (for me anyways) but I'm not sure why they didn't update that on the website.

They probably received your LOR's before AACPMAS sent out the first batch of applications and then they got busy?, dunno. All I know is that this is an email from Carla who is over apps/LOR's for Ohio to the admissions recruiter-then he cut and pasted her response for me.

I know you don't care now because you didn't apply to Kent State, and looks like you are all set with interviews (congrats), but for those who are I thought I would let people know where the email came from....

Busy with processing everything and probably behind...yes. Delusional...probably not.

Yeah I read in the DPM pamphlet that Ohio only requires 2 LORs total.
I wasn't sure if I was reading it correctly. 🙂 thanks!!!

I've gotten like six from Kent State in the last couple of days inviting me to apply to their "graduate programs". Nothing from any school that I've applied to though.
 
for those of you who have heard back from schools already, does it show on aacpm that your app has been mailed at all???
 
We just need to be patient. It's not even sept yet... I think if there is silence by mid- or end Sept then we should worry. I doubt there is a boat load of application - its early on, and they are taking there time.
 
This is the week for the rest of us to hear back from someone?
 
Man I really hope this is the week we hear something, I have been trying to tune out the anxiety.
