ive been posting on FB as well... I have interviews with DMU on the 14th (hopefully) and Kent on the 28th of sept

Got an email from dmu saying that my app was forwarded to the dean and that theyll have a decision this week, hope thats a good sign lol. And kent state continues to send me updates of my app, r they going to just give me an interview alreadyyy lol

Dean Yoho of DMU went to Grove City College, which is in our conference here at Bethany and Ive played several tournaments (golf) against Grove City. Small world, I hope we can talk about that and it helps! Ive also been reading the entirety of the DMU website and am excited about the prospect of 300 miles of trails with which to run on.. I think I really want to go to DMU!

No one has heard from Sam Merritt (anyone apply?), Barry, Scholl, and AZPOD still, right???

I got an email from DMU saying that my application was being passed on to the Dean also! I expect my MCAT scores tomorrow according to MaxillofacialMN's prediction so we shall see. I am pumped!!!:xf:

Yep. I'll be in the OR all day tomorrow and will be checking it frequently! lol

I'll let you know how close your prediction is.....

Anyone with any Over/Unders for the MCAT score posting at 3:09 tomorrow?? lol

What are you guys planning to wear to your interviews? I think I'm going to go with a traditional black suit over a white collared shirt and a mellow tie.

I have a faint-pinstripe black suit, I'm going to wear a colored shirt, and a matching colored tie. First interview is at DMU, so probably going to wear a purple shirt... 😉

Dark navy suit, badass brown shoes with buckles on them, brown belt, white shirt, purple/pink/white tie.
O-P
oh and this is for my DMU interview

man will dmu or cspm contact me already haha

No!!! Never Match the tie an shirt!!!! they are supposed to contrast each other. If you match the tie (color or pattern) to your shirt, you will look like an amateur. Maybe suitable (no pun intended) for the club but not in professional setting. Good luck on your interview 🙂

Natorx i'm curious to what your stats are. Maybe you should call DMU and ask about your application status.

22O Mcat
Overal Gpa: 3.07
BCP: 3.68

2 years Research experience, and Research Grants.

I'm a returning student, from a 7 year break of school. My gpa at University level is 3.8, Chem major. My gpa is deflated because a decade ago I was a idiot taking random classes at junior college getting horrible grades not caring lol

I hope in perspective, the schools will see me as competitive.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you received the letter from them that they were evaluating and passing your app on to the Dean than I would just give them a week or so and you'll be hearing back from them. I'm in the same boat. The letter did say that they would try and have a decision made within a week though.

Its only been 3 days, I know.... I need to chill.

I'm most curious about cspm. Its my #1 personally.

Do u guys think thats a good sign though when they say theyre passing it on to the dean?? Im just nervous lol!

reading about ksucpm and talking to a 1st year there makes me want to go there.... i hope that on these interviews i will know if that is the one for me or not... i feel fickle lol

is Ksucpm the school that you can enter without a degree, just credits?

I should apply there, just as a worse case scenario I don't pass Pchem 2 next year lmao.

you can enter into all of the schools with completing your major as you only need 90 credit hours. Kent will give you the option of obtaining an undergrad degree however after completing your first year. Some other schools will as well.

Do you mean without?

I’m slightly confused.
Does that mean that Kent State will offer you admission into their podiatric program, and after you complete the first year as a pod student, you will be able to finish your undergrad degree?
So ultimately, would you be taking more than 7years to complete the DPM degree?

Is that correct?

I had asked an admissions adviser at Kent about this because I plan on matriculating without a degree.

Here is what he had to say..

"That ONLY applies if your college has what is called an articulation/binary agreement with KSUCPM. There are a limited number of colleges in which KSUCPM has these agreements. What institution did you attend?

Additionally, you are usually required to have declared that you would be on the “pre-podiatry” tract via an Academic Advisor, as the college that would grant you the Bachelor’s needs to know what to expect. We (KSU) do NOT grant the Bachelor’s degree; that comes from your home institution."

Thats good to know. Dont get me wrong i worked my ass of at this point and plan to graduate no matter what. Just i always think of worse case scenario. Full load if upper division chem is no joke haha

Waiting sucks. I'm tired of waiting for a school to even acknowledge the fact that I applied!

9/11/12 @ 3:09 Eastern. Right on the dot my man! Good call...

Does anyone know whether KSU, Temple, NYCPM, Western, and/or CSPM have open file interviews?

Not sure, that's a good question. I have western interview pending on Oct 2nd, still waiting on the others.

Okay so i did really bad on the mcat, can i still get a conditional acceptance if i say im going to retake in jan or feb? Idk what to do...

That's entirely up to the school.

Your score breakdown? If you don't want to share I understand.

Yea id rather not share, idk what to do, im so stressed.

sub 20's?

18 and up i'd give it a shot, what the hell. Below 18, just retake. **** happens, don't let the test be the reason of what direction you take in life.

I dunno if anyone checks it, but Kent State just got added to the Q/A of pod schools stickied at the top!
