THANK YOU SQUISHHHH!!! 🙂 It feels good to be back in my natural "skin"

Not to be a gunner or anything, but has anyone tried some verbal test prep? I decided to try a Kaplan VR test out of this book my mom got me (She's only trying to be helpful lol) while I waited for my Fallout DLC to finish dowloading.😛 I made an 8 lol 😎 🙄

Haha yes and no, I tried the Bio section out of Kaplan book in a B&N a little and I got 8 out of the 10.

Though next summer, I'm going to have to go MCAT prep book shopping.

Also, does anyone have a Mac or a Macbook Pro?

Not bad! Also, I'd like to thank you for starting the c/o 2018 thread despite all the haters you knew you were probably going to attract. 🙂

'Tis my pleasure 🙂

As Winston Churchill once put "You have enemies? Good, it means you stood up for something, sometime in your life"

I LOVE the kids, and I absolutely love taking care of them. Not just their medical needs, but being their advocates. What I hate are their "camp councellors" They are nice to us when they need us and nasty when they don't. It is really sad, this could have been an amazing experience. However, there are a few kids I know I will stay in contact with and with try to help mentor them into college.

i am having no-xplode for breakfast.

i am such a pre-med.

:-(

That is my facebook quote <3

Great minds think alike 🙂

Ouchh, don't you hate that? I volunteered at a summer camp for mentally handicapped teens in high school, and the counselors there were the exact same way. Would you do it again next year?

No-xplode? What the hell is that?

Sounds like an anti-laxative...

How old are these kids?

13 to 15 with one 17 year old. The 17 year old is a god send though. Vey helpful.

Thanks man 😀

Did you get the new OS X? It looks interesting, so I will probably pirate it in a month or two once I finally get around to getting a portable hard drive and backing my **** up.

Wow you should make him an honorary councelor or something! Be careful though, today where I live, its a heat index of 109.

Thank god my EMT class is in air-conditioning

Dinner tonight is EPIC. Then again I love anything I dont have to cook!!!!

I haven't either (full Apple suite, including the iPad... I have a little problem with dropping obscene amounts of money on electronics), but it does look interesting. I'm still on Leopard, though. I may not switch, either, because right now everything works and I have other computer stuff that I "need" before a new OS. 🙁 when someone goes Lion, give us a full review!

What did ya have? I always loved the last dinners because they always make them so tasty and special

You should really upgrade to Snow Leopard! I got it free with my macbook pro (got it last august). Do you ever backup your stuff? All I have right now is a 4GB usb stick that I will update occasionally with my sheet music and some important documents, but other than that, everything else is up to chance.

Though Lion does look very, very interesting

I just had an early and very tearful departure from camp. My partner and I cried, but I think the kids cried more. The only explaination I got was that we were to nice and too friendly with the kids, and by eating with them and spending our free time with them we over stepped our jobs as EMTs. I am just sad because I miss the kids. Karma will take care of the councellors who kicked us out.

They kicked you out?!?! What the f*ck! I know the feeling of an emotional departure though. I had a mission trip to France a couple years back and after 2 and a half months together, we had to say goodbye. I haven't been that emotional in a longggg time

Yah they did, and they weren't even nice enough about it to let us say our goodbyes and leave peacefully. Our supervisor still thinks we did the right thing, so no regrets. No way was I not going to take care of my kiddos.

You did do the right thing. I still can't believe they let you go because you "over-stepped your boundaries". That is the most b.s. reason

This thread. Makes me uncomfortable. So much. :scared:

wut?

Can I ask a *****ic question? Given that this is a fairly off-topic thread I don't feel guilty asking here.

Why can't I access the Lounge? I can't see it in the main page for the forums, and when I followed a link someone posted, it said that access was denied. Is there a minimum post count before you're allowed access, or what?

Hmmm I don't know my friend, its working for me! Though I almost never ever go to the lounge.

I either go to the pre-allo or EMS, though the EMS is pretty dead

Why the discomfort? This is a supportive and accepting thread 😍

We also have almost no set topic. If we did it would be the "get into med school which eating good food and complaining thread"

Along with me pretty much promising everyone that I will cook them a meal or two if I get into the same med school as them

:laugh: I'd be down for that, though I'm mainly applying to schools on the East Coast

I 😍Kayaking

Me too!! Though I haven't been in years! I remember my first time was at this 4-H camp and we went to the James River (A really big river in Virginia) and I flipped my kayak over, and when I climbed back onto the shore, I had about 5 leeches on me. Needless to say, I freaked the f*ck out

*shutters

I hate leeches!

Today I got to start my reseach...on a kayak instead of a canoe. Big upgrade! We saw a bunch of turtles and tracked them down afterward. Really cool prof. We measured things like pH, o2 in the water, and temp at different depths. Also we took samples of plankton and secci disc depth.

Pshhh, East Coast is where its at! Besides, I highly doubt I could get into any West Coast Schools

East Coast woot woot! Although I'll also be applying to some Midwest schools, family ties. :/ Maybe even a few in the South, you know, get a new cultural experience (haha). And of course, one or two Canadian schools. 😀 All subject to change.

Do you guys think it's better to have specific schools to work towards at this point, or better to keep on trucking with a more general goal?

HMS or bust

There are always the schools in the Mountain West and Southwest. 😀

What are my fellow 2018ers spending their sundays doing?
