Just curious are there any 2019er's that were accepted into BS/MD programs? 🙂
Nope. Not me.
already bought my t-shirt

Sorry--but the class of 2019 doesn't need to rely on 'wishing' or 'luck' to get into medical school. 🙄 Of course, who knows, you might be bumped to our class year..don't let your head explode.

Zing!
SexyDoctor, I thought that you were going to be a sophomore this year. Why do you have to take an extra year to graduate?

Haha yeah I said that before. I'm taking things slow because I want to squeeze all my classes in without dying (I have a non-science major), still maintain a job, and stellar ECs 😀 So instead of taking a 'year off', I do 5 yrs of UG..

Ouch. I don't know if this has come up before, but does your college give out merit based scholarships? Maybe that can help you offset your job.

Man I'm so psyched I already got clinical experience in high school. So incredibly awesome getting to see a total knee replacement and a tracheotomy in the O.R..😀 And then an open heart surgery in another location👍

My high school had this program called Health Science Technology. And at the 2nd level(HST 2), we got the chance to shadow physicians in various areas such as family medicine, ER, OR, vets, dentists etc.
The knee replacement and trach were when I was shadowing a surgeon.(Yes they are super cocky, but a blast to talk to). The heart surgery was one of our field trips to St. Lukes.
Haha, not to disappoint you but the ER isn't that exciting most of the time. Mostly it's people w/ minor complaints that could have been solved by going to their GP. But strangely I got to shadow a nurse who got a patient that she has experiencing severe nausea and etc. The nurse ultra sounded the patient and found out she was pregnant(patient had no idea).
Personally, I wanna do some high intensity surgery. So right now I'm shooting for either orthopedics, trauma, or cardiothoracic.

Wow you're lucky! can I ask you what state you're from?
Perhaps, but I'm planning to work there for 4 years..so I should see some pretty neat stuff 😀
Wow, well go right ahead! Although I'm sure you've got enough clinical experience haha!

Well some of my friends, when they rotated 1 week, saw a code on a lady who ODed. So it's not all normal things. Just most of the time.
I'm from Texas. Haha, yeah it was definetly a year that influenced me in more ways than one. I'm actually going to start undergrad in a few weeks so hopefully more clinical experience. And if not, I can always add to my 300+ hospital volunteer hours.😀

Tricking you into a false sense of security to do less only to show you up completely. I thought that's what gunners do? Again if not, and if that wasnt gunnerish than thats good?

Like Babylonian-Marxist Medical Anthropology?
bio is so boring
Boooo... You don't know what you're missing out on.
Nah, just because there is so much versatility to BME. Also, b/c it provides a good fallback if I don't get into med school. Plus, I like the fact that at my school last years seniors only had 12 people graduate w/ a BME degree b/c the attrition rate is so high. I like the fact that you can say you could do that. Also I like that it's a relatively new discipline. It's a cool pioneer-esque experience.
