Unfortunately I will not be applying to either Harvard or BU, as the first is not a good fit and BU is apparently a butt.

I think every time I read about it it's a complaint...
Off the top of my head: very expensive tuition with little aid, way too many applicants, silent rejection until May

What I want to know is who looked at Stanford's mascot during the design process and though "yeah, this will not only strike fear into the bellies of our opponents but also represent us as a school perfectly."

Who do you all talk with about these applications? Applying to med school can be pretty isolating if you don't have a good cohort doing it with you (I don't really). I want to celebrate every interview I get, but also it can be boastful to the few friends who're doing this too.

edit: I guess that's the main advantage of this thread.

First, Congrats on your interview to Pitt!! 🙂 That's awesome, good luck on your interview.

Is this your first interview invite? I pretty much talk to my mentors and the good folks on this thread about the app process. People on this thread are pretty supportive and helpful so feel free to talk about your app and all your success as much as you want here.

I've also had Pritzker's II for a bit. I live near the west coast so I'm trying to re-configure my already-booked return from Chicago to let me go to Pittsburgh as well. It's very affirming to have these early invites, because though I have the high stats, I've been worried about my lack of long-term research/community service.

In a similar situation. 🙁 SDN is my substitute pre-med cohort. Hoping I get to meet some awesome folks on the interview trail to commiserate/celebrate with, since I don't have any friends in the med-app circuit.

And congrats on your interviews! I'm stringing Pitt together with UVA, but I'm holding off on tickets at the moment. As a fellow west coast-er, I'm really hoping I get another east coast II sometime in the near future so I can keep stringing interviews onto my trip.

From looking at school's websites, most have interviews beginning in September, you could be right that it'll pay off to wait on tickets.

I talk with my close friend who luckily aren't in the pre-med route. Although it can be frustrating at times cause they don't know what I'm going through. lol

Besides them, I can talk to my PI or a few other of my close pre-med friends - pretty much people who know I'm not boasting. xD

And congrats on the II!!! I just want one soon ............... lol

I'm just really hoping August brings along a downpour of interviews! It sounds pretty lame, but I get so much secondhand excitement when I see people reporting interviews in the SSD threads.
