Time for the next batch to start taking the plunge. As we watched the 2013 kids struggle with their apps, whine about LOR issues, cry over botched interviews among so many other things, we sat on the sidelines, sippin on our pina coladas and just glad we got to relish in a few more months of freedom before going through the gauntlet.
Many of us are now deciding who to ask for a letter, picking out schools, ordering an MSAR or two and reading each 2013 thread a little more diligently, knowing that applying is not something we'll do in a few years, when we grow up, etc. For many neurotic SDNers the day comes less than 6 months from now!
Some of us have taken the MCAT, some of us are retaking it, and some of us will take it for the first time. For the latter groups I wish you the best of luck, it is certainly a test you can beat.
So my fellow class of 2014, the time is almost upon us. A few months might seem a long time for some, but take it from someone who graduated a few years ago - months come and go like a whisper in the wind when you are on the verge of something like this. It is in our manifest destiny to be the best class; we are taking the plunge with a new president and quite possibly the biggest upheaval in America and the world in history, let alone our desired profession which will undoubtedly go through some considerable changes in the coming years. Who will be our shemarty to lead our Secondary threads, our jgberken (William Hwang) to be our idol?
This is to you, class of 2014, good luck and godspeed.
(dunno if its too early or not, but someone suggested this thread to be started here, so I said why not!)
