Class rank

Anyone with step 1 in the 220-240 range with class rank approximately in the middle of the class care to share successful match experiences?

Numbers of interviews? Matched at 1st, 2nd, 3rd choice? Academic or community programs?

Does class rank have an effect on the number of interview invites, or is it all based on step 1? Also, will a strong interview and 230s step 1 make up for a mediocre class rank?

I agree. I for one know how subjective the evaluation process is third year and am ending up in the middle (or even bottom of half) of a very intense medical school. Anyone have any experiences they wish to share?

Good point about third year! I was fortunate enough to make it in the top 1/3 to 1/2 of the class for my third year but I was in the second half for my basic science years (mostly Ps with occasional HP or H). Overall, I just missed making into the top half.
