do dental schools require that you take sociology as one of the prereqs or can u still get in without taking it because i was looking at some dental schools that recommended it and i don't need to take that class to graduate.

i dunno if i should take socio next semester or not....any suggestions?!?

A recommended course is not required to matriculate into dental school. A REQUIRED or PREREQUISITE course, you have to take.

Michigan requires a semester of sociology. They also require a semester of psychology. Check their website for prereqs if you're interested in going there, because they have a few prereqs that most schools don't have.

For every school you plan to apply to, you need to go to their website to make sure you meet their pre-requisites.

I have seen sociology listed more than once as required.

So do your research!

The requirements are there, but they aren't static at all schools. In some of the humanities requirements, there's some flexibility. I was allowed to substitute one course requirement for coursework in history, religious studies, and a humanities based independent study that was far more rigorous than an introductory level sociology course.
