Has anyone played around with that Prism app? I just downloaded it, did my “ratings” and my “projected” ROL is pretty spot on with my feelings right now lol
I have and I love the fact that you can type up notes after the interview. Super clutch and yea my ROL is accurate with the ratings up to this point.

I feel you! I keep telling myself I’m at least having more fun than I would if I was at a rotation lol. But traveling alone to a bunch of places has been tiring and a bit lonely. And it’s hard to stay upbeat and keep coming up with questions all day long.
If I cancel interviews at this point, it’s not gonna be because I’m tired of traveling, or because I’m worried about my finances. It’s honestly going to be because I can’t keep asking questions

Interviewer: what questions do you have for me?

And none for Gretchen Weiners (me). Hopefully the cancellations continue and I see some invites from them.
To be fair the ones I’ve gotten recently one I did an audition at and the other is local. I’m looking out for 1 more from an audition place for 9 and anything past that is bonus.
The bad thing is in 3 weeks in December I’m going on 5 interviews. That’ll suck.

I did 5 this week. You got this!

Of note also the AI I'm currently on that is stubbornly not interviewing me has had 2 interviews since I've been here. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Argh

That's impressive. I don't even see how, with interviews and travel and the dinners the most I can pull off in a week is 2.

I had to miss a dinner this week because of travel, but all of my interviews are within an hour of where I live. I could NOT imagine doing five in a week.

2 of the 5 were for preliminary/transitional year positions so there was no dinner and they were only about 2 hours each. They were both in the same city. The remaining 3 were for advanced positions with dinners the night before, but they were all relatively close to each other and one is an interview on a Saturday.

I'm honestly happy to be back on a four-week rotation with a break in interviews just so I can have a semi-regular schedule again.

My next rotation is an internal medicine sub-I and I don’t know why I did that to myself but here we are.

I added a rotation to my schedule because I’m going stir crazy with this time off and no interviews to go to. So maybe I’ll start getting IVs now that there’s something I have to go to :’D

My next rotation is an internal medicine sub-I and I don’t know why I did that to myself but here we are.

I'm doing psych and my school we don't have a psych sub-I so I got stuck with an IM sub-I randomly late in the year. I'm hoping attendings and residents are a touch more forgiving because it's later on and I'm not tryna gun for a letter or anything.

My school used to require that everyone do a medicine sub-i. They changed it now, but i still had to do a medicine sub-i.

I'm gonna be honest some of y'all are crazy wanting to be on rotations. I'm on vacation right now and sleeping in, watching Netflix, hanging out with friends has seriously been the best thing ever.

I’m in residency right now and that sounds wonderful.

Legit my parents want to take me on a big vacation as a present for graduating medical school. Any good recommendations? I know I want to do something abroad but something that’s not a hike the mountains kind of thing cause they’d die. Anybody?

I loved Ireland when I visited, there is of course some walking but it’s a very “easy living” type place to visit (nice for older parents) and is not too touristy depending on where you go.

Depends on what you’re interested in!
Ive done a little of a lot of stuff over the past few years. Cruises are a good way to get a little of everything.

I went to Singapore on deployment for a port visit, and it is AMAZING. Absolutely beautiful and a great place to visit.

I’m doing Japan and Australia. But without the folks bc I can only stand them for so long haha. Maybe see if they’d get you that vacation without actually going with you

Nah if they’re buying it I’ll take em lol. I considered Australia, I’ve always wanted to go.
I’ve also considered Greece, Spain, ya know all the big stuff. I’m just indecisive.

Mediterranean cruises give you a flavor of all of those places!

Highly recommend Barcelona...had to choose between Barca and Greece 2 years ago and made the right decision

I recommend whichever one has the cheapest plane tickets, according to Google Flights... Though plane ticket costs keep telling me to keep going to Europe instead of South America 🙁

Just got an IV... they’re requesting my undergrad transcript... why lol

Just got an interview invite and the only open date is next week and I've never felt so much like an afterthought lol. Decided to WL for mid-January instead but honestly idk if I realistically would want to attend a 6:45a-4p interview day at the end of my interview trail 🙄
