You’re not missing anything. Did you get the NRMP confirmation of your list email?I am paranoid that I didn't do it correctly with certifying my ROL. It shows Certified, Paid, and Verified, all in green in NRMP. Is there anything else that I need to do? I have this recurring nightmare that I thought I certified my list but I didn't and I ended up with the Not Match email.

@RTKMD you’re good. Just make sure to recertify if you make changes because it doesn’t save a previous version

haha I think we all have the same anxiety about this! I wish there was a message that said “submitted/finished” instead of certified

“Congrats MFer, you submitted your rank list. Grab a beer and chill”
One of my programs does "discovery rounds" which I'm not really familiar with. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of it? IM applicant here
Doesn't that mean you don't preround? Like you, the attending and the team go "discover" what's new with the patient that day?One of my programs does "discovery rounds" which I'm not really familiar with. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of it? IM applicant here
Yes. It means you get to sleep in.Doesn't that mean you don't preround? Like you, the attending and the team go "discover" what's new with the patient that day?
You and the attending come into it uninformed and then hear from the nurse, patient, and check the computer as you go.One of my programs does "discovery rounds" which I'm not really familiar with. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of it? IM applicant here
Sounds like how rounds should work for IM honestly lol.
Edit: holy smokes. A @libertyyne sighting. He liked that post 🙂

FTFYSounds like how rounds should work always
Heck yeah, we just happen to have a major offender in IM.FTFY
Normalize conversational tone during rounds!!! It's better for everyone and is exactly the same amount of educational.
table rounds >>>
explicitly table rounds where everyone has a comfy chair and computer.

Also how do you word things in a thank you email to a program that is not your number one but you are ranking high? (had an interview a few weeks back and have been dragging my feet)
I only sent the #1 letter and nothing else. If you must send other letters, I wouldn’t use the words “ranking highly”. Just thank you, I like this programs because of x,y,z, thanks for considering me
I just completely reordered 4-7 on my list. Basically opposite of what I had yesterday...
This is fine

Haha I spent like 12 hours reordering 5-11 on my list today. Again. And I’m still not settled.I just completely reordered 4-7 on my list. Basically opposite of what I had yesterday...

Sending a thank you weeks later seems unnecessary

12 hours? My god. When I re order something it takes 10 seconds and then I forget the reason why I re-ordered them in the first place
I have been changing #1-3 every day. Whos with meThe closer we get to March 3rd the more frequently im changing my list smh why am I like this lol
Had my first match dream last night.
Dream me didn't match well...
Dream me didn't match well...
Should I just forget it then? I'm hearing it is better to send one than not. I'm indifferent because from what I understand it probably won't help much anyway.Sending a thank you weeks later seems unnecessary
I'm changing my #1 and #2 daily because NYC rents are making me **** my pants

Did y’all not keep score during your interviews? I took notes about the factors I considered important and immediately after an interview gave the program a score out of 10 based on those factors + interview impression. I then set the paper aside, and didn’t look again until rank lists opened up. I put them in my rank list in descending order of the scores and I was immediately happy with it.Haha I spent like 12 hours reordering 5-11 on my list today. Again. And I’m still not settled.
I haven’t looked at it since I made it and am only going in tonight to make sure I have all the NRMP codes correct.
For me it’s just what I’m valuing more changes on the day. It’s less so me questioning what each program actually has to offer, and me more so questioning what I personally value and whyDid y’all not keep score during your interviews? Has everyone written to their #1 to let them know it was their #1?
I have classmates that didn't do the #1 letter. It's okay not to do it
It's very normal to NOT send a letter of intent. LOIs really don't matter and won't change much if anything. Also it's march 1st, programs have their rank lists finished already.I have classmates that didn't do the #1 letter. It's okay not to do it
Ugh Dustyn is saying to study 🙁

I have had sooooooooo many residents explicitly say "do not study". Just like we were told not to prestudy for med school. I'm not studying.
Is this from inside info? I heard they change up until the last minuteIt's very normal to NOT send a letter of intent. LOIs really don't matter and won't change much if anything. Also it's march 1st, programs have their rank lists finished already.

Some programs do, some don’t. I can say for certain that atleast a couple of mine made their lists basically the day after their last interviews. A couple said it during interview day, and one said it in an email inviting us to their second look, emphasizing that their list was already made and that attending or not wouldn’t affect their decision. Is this from inside info? I heard they change up until the last minute

This exactly. I had an extensive residency excel sheet with several columns of everything, filled out from everything before/during/after the interview I could possible get my hands on from every source imaginable. I had a running ROL I kept all season and added/reordered programs as soon as I got a new invite AND again when I completed the interview. The top 5 and bottom 5 are locked in, but the middle 6 I have struggled with shuffling because they have a myriad of pros and cons to weight against each other and it’s so hard. Hopefully I match top 5 and all of this extra scrutiny for the middle didn’t matter. For me it’s just what I’m valuing more changes on the day. It’s less so me questioning what each program actually has to offer, and me more so questioning what I personally value and why
Finalized my list. Wishing I could match tomorrow honestly
What is the best way to verify the NRMP codes? The way I did was looked on eras at each program I applied to that I am ranking then compared it to what was entered on my NRMP list... is this right? I know its a dumb question but damn the anxiety that I will somehow f up one code and ruin my shot is daunting.
can't you just click on the name of the program? it shows you the PD and phone and email and address lolWhat is the best way to verify the NRMP codes? I verified mine using both methods: check eras for NRMP code of programs I applied to and the PD name by clicking on the program name on NRMP website.can't you just click on the name of the program? it shows you the PD and phone and email and address lol
