I originally thought about not applying to IM prelims (and advanced neuro programs), but lately I changed my mind and may apply to about 10 IM prelims. I will be submitting mine after the 19th, so I guess we'll see. Most of my applications will go to categorical Neuro programs anyway.

I mean it will probably affect you somehow, but I doubt it would be by a lot. My guess is programs will mostly be looking at the supplemental for the preference signaling thing to decide who to send interviews to, and I don't think interviews will be going out within 6 days. Even if a program filter applicants by who has a supplemental or not, I think once it is available on October 6, your app should pop up onto their screen automatically. That's if I go by the explanation @NotAProgDirector gave me for updating level 2/step 2 once it's released. For peace of mind you can always email all the programs to let them know.
For my paid research job, I listed mine as a single research experience then discussed some of the various projects I worked on in my description
I was thinking of doing that. My one concern, and maybe Its rather silly but I want to have something for "work" too.
Yeah I don't think that's silly, honestly every concern no matter how trivial appearing, is valid given how important this process is. My thinking is that hopefully if we characterize the research appropriately in the description that it shouldn't be an issue.

You can assign letters after you submit. However, make sure to look up the program’s letter requirements prior to assigning letters because once you assign them (post submission) you cannot undo it (i.e. once you drop a letter into the mailbox, you can’t get it back).
I think is not true. Vast majority of us most of our experience are before medical school.

Yes. Leave it out unless they explicitly ask for me. It's a waste of a letter. My school did the same...we probably go to the same school lol.

Agreed. Chair letters for DO and IMG schools are essentially useless. And a few MD schools are useless also.

Good to know. I put it in as my studies being "organic chemistry" and it didnt make sense, but then I remebered how for FAFSA and Med school applications they wanted everywhere you have every attended, so I was confused.
I basically just double spaced it. most of my experieinces only had 1-3 sentences about them anyways. Longest had 5 I think

Lol no! No way programs will be able to go through 100s or even 1000s of apps in less than 24 hours. That would be a red flag if that happens. Interviews will probably take a couple weeks before they start coming.

Dang! I'd be wary of such quick turn around. They probably skipped everything else on the app besides score and geography lol.
According to the spreadsheets for the last 2 cycles people were getting invites as early as 2-4 days after apps were released. And if I remember correctly a PGY-1 psych resident on the audition rotation I did last month said she was getting offers the week after release.
I didn’t bother with a mic, but I did get a $20 ring light that was life changing. Use a ring light.
It’s the first year for that, so we don’t really know.
A ton of invites started going out from the day of release on in IM. I didn’t get my first invite for like 12 days after they went out and I was panicking as I watched the other MS4s on my sub-I getting a bunch.
