If I wanted to go for an MD/PhD or MD/MS, I would have to take the GRE to enter the graduate degree program, right? Silly question, I know, but some school websites don't seem to make it very obvious.

It depends. If you are doing an MD/PhD through an MD/PhD program - which is I assume what you are asking - there are very few that will require you to take the GREs (I think you could probably search the forum and find a few threads about which schools require them). Obviously if you are doing the PhD separate from the MD, you are going to need to fulfill the standard requirements to the graduate degree program which always includes the GRE so far as I know.

I have no idea whether MD/MS programs would require the GRE, but I would imagine so because these types of curriculums are usually much less formal than an MD/PhD program and presumably involve separate applications to the medical school and the graduate school for the MS.

No, there are several formal MD/MS programs, and they work like MD/PhD where you just apply through the med school. As far as I know, there are no formal MD/MS programs that require you to take the GRE. CCLCM certainly doesn't require it. Even informal MD/MS programs probably won't make you take the GRE because you can just submit your MCAT score. That is what my state U's med school does.

MD/MS programs seem to much less prevalent than MD/PhD programs, but I have found a few that I like. Most of the time though, the MS will be something like a MPH or MBA...not what I'm looking for. Other schools look promising however.

None of these are for MPHs or MBAs. They're all research MD/MS programs. There are probably more, but these are the ones I've found out about so far.

I wasn't knocking you. I think I'm pretty much the only MD/MS student who posts in here, so it's not surprising that no one here knows much about MD/MS programs. 😛
