Hi there,

As I'm applying for ERAS, it says once I decide to release my comlex scores, the most recent scores will be released to programs (i'm only applying osteopathic). Now here's the unfortunate part, I failed my Comlex 2 CE, and it is already in their records. I'm retaking the exam 2-3 wks from now. I was thinking of sending my app without the scores, but I doubt it will even be looked without at least a COMLEX I score..Should I wait to submit my app until I get my new comlex score back, or would that be too late? FYI, I'm applying for family med and im residencies. Thanks very much.

If I were in your shoes, I'd apply to all the backups right now at the very least. You're looking at a 6-8 week turnaround for the next set of scores. The situation is what it is, its just too long of a wait before your next CE scores come. Anyway I would throw money at it (apply to A LOT of programs) and go to every interview you're offered.

It gives you a reason to write programs nice emails saying you're very interested and in the process of fixing your mistake.

That's what I was thinking too. I'll likely apply to my backups now, and grit my teeth and apply late for my top choices. Right now, I just need to keep focus on comlex 2 so I don't have a nightmare scenario again.

TeamZissou, that sounds like a good idea. Hopefully I don't come off as too desperate to the programs.

This is the advice I was given.

Obviously the fewer negative marks you have the stronger of an upward trend afterward, the easier it is...

Look I can't say I blame you for wanting to apply late to your top choices, but make sure you have many, many, many backups that you can apply to NOW.
