I am a CC student who just transferred to a state university and I must say that everyone that said CC was easier is damn right. I used to argue a lot about this and as you can see in my previous post but damn.
Had a 4.0 at CC through 66 credits with all the prereqs done.
Just took my first test in neuroscience and got a 73 (C). But the class average was a 67 (D).
hope there is some kind of curve.
🙁🙁
Shhh, don't tell! Maybe the word won't get out to adcoms that your CC 4.0 should be disregarded!
Bragging about a 4.0 from a CC is like bragging about a student of the month award from second grade.
I'm still upset though guys....
Should I switch to pharmacy? sigh...

I dunno who told you that pharmacy is any easier than dentistry.
Now might be an appropriate time to start taking about the DDS/PharmD dual degree program I am working on

You are just a living witness of a failure. 😡
wow tad harsh there buddy. dont kill the kid, he's learning slowly but surely.
yeah I realize that too but he needs to know that when he posts something like that, he will get comments like mine.
My CC was about equal with my state university. 60's are usuelly class average. Sounds like you need to adapt.
which university is it?
at my school science class avgs are typically kept around 65-70.
rarely do they actually curve you, they just try to adjust the marks by making subsequent tests easier or harder.
but this avg would not be considered atypical.
PS: were those friends part of your 5? 😛
Its Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
In the first meeting of class my teacher said she only curves depending on the class average.
She sent an email today saying that this exam was a little harder than last semester's exam because the average is lower. She also said she might curve depending on the average of the next two tests.
don't count on a handout or a curve. The only thing you have control over is how much you study and how much you know the material. When/if you get to dental school, the exams will be that much harder and you need to get used to pushing yourself. Nothing wrong with talking to the prof to see what areas you could concentrate on to get better. In fact, profs usually like to see students asking for help.
I have never experienced CC, however, undergrad science classes have always been challenging. In my developmental bio class the avg. on the first exam was a 67, no curve. 👎 Just avoid procrastination as much as possible and you'll do well.
