Hi guys,
I know this is a controversial topic,but let's hear some opinions.
Which is better for postgraduate training (Residency+Fellowships) & for practicing medicine;especially in surgery.... is it the US or UK ??

USA is better.
better organized.
less prejudice against non-citizens ( tough to get Registrar jobs for you in the UK since you aren't British.

USA : 5 years training and BAM, you're done! ( provided you get a categorical slot)

Great doctors in the UK, but it takes a lot longer to get fully qualified as a general surgeon, and there is bias against you because you are not British

What experience do you have with the UK medical system HiFi? I guess I'm wondering the same thing (as Anis). What do you mean by 'british', culturally british (lived in britain for life) or just 'citizen'? Why do you think this?
