Competitive rates of OMFS residency locations

I was wondering how competitive the different locations are for OMFS residency. Obviously somewhere like Tripler would be sought after, but is it really that much harder to get? what kind of choice to do you have when applying or is it just a general application?

you really don't have any choice. you get to rank the locations, but that doesn't really mean much. the best way to get the location you want is to do an externship at the place you think you want to go and impress the program director there.
