El waitingo es overo!!! (That's Spanglish, by the way 🙂 )

I would like to add my Congratulations as well. It?s a relief, isn't it?
🙂

Now, you can spend all your time obsessing over whether you will get off any of your other waitlists. 😉

  I also wanted to congratulate you.

Haha, I somehow missed this one! Thanks a bunch, it's such a relief...and to think I got the call as I was finalizing my second personal statement!

Thanks for all the support from everyone, and I wish the best of luck to anyone who is in the situation I was in.

Congrats, man. What a relief it must be to get that first acceptance. This process is definitely unpredictable.

Add my congrats to this list. Hopefully the other waitlistees will get some good news soon too!

Again, congrats!
Laurie

Yeah, something like that...but no matter it was worth the wait. I can finally move on with my life!

From one golden bear to another, congrats man. Best of luck!

Mikeyboy, with those kind of stellar scores, its crazy why it took so long. For those of us "juniors" who are tagging along and waiting with bated breath for the MCAT results (latest rumor: next Monday), could u share with us your biggest learning from the whole experience?

Thanks, and CONGRATS!!!!!!!!

congrats from the sistah!!!! I'm sure it was well worth the wait....

Well you're already ahead of me since I didn't know about SDN until after my apps were in. Otherwise I wouldn't have taken a summer trip last year that delayed my application. And, I might not have been as agressive in trying to get off the waitlists and maybe wouldn't have even gotten in.

My biggest learning experience was to be humble. Again, since you already browse the threads, you know how unpredictable the process is and don't take anything for granted. Even though everyone was telling me I would get in, and after I was waitlisted, that I should have gotten in (WashU admissions lady was "at a loss" to see why I didn't get an acceptance yet), I still had to wait so long.

Finally, I don't know if it helped, but I tried to keep in touch with my interviewers once a month or so toward the end, and tried to get the Deans to know my name. Ways to ask them a question might be to send in a letter to their attention, and e-mail them asking whether they got it. I did that with Dr. Rapaport, he was very friendly and e-mailed me back a few times, and when he called he mentioned the e-mails. Some Deans won't respond, but it doesn't hurt to have them know who you are.

Thanks again for all the support!
