I was recently accepted ED to CALS at Cornell for the Class of 2019 with a major in animal science and a pre-vet track. I know I'm thinking ahead, but what is the best/easiest statistics class to take at Cornell for someone who doesn't love math? I was planning to take stats in the fall, because I'll be taking many science classes that will get harder in future semesters, but I've heard a lot about the different classes, and I'm not sure which would be best.

Deciding between AEM 2100, ILR/STSCI 2100, and PAM 2100. AEM 2100 I've heard has a great professor and is currently offered in the fall. I've heard STSCI 2100 has a much better/easier professor (Karns) in the spring than in the fall. And I've heard that PAM 2100 is easy in general but is only offered in the spring. Would it be too much to take stats in the spring? I'll probably be taking the next level of chemistry, 2080 I think it is, and a bunch of animal bio/regular bio courses. So I think I want to get it out of the way during my first semester in the fall, but I'm not sure if that's the easiest option?

Also, if anyone was or is pre-vet at Cornell, I have a bunch of questions if you wouldn't mind answering or generally giving advice - so PM me

Thank you!

Hey! Maybe posting this on one of the Cornell threads can help you find someone.
Also, I'm not much of a math person myself (trig is the death if me!) but taking as much stats as possible is useful in the life sciences, especially if you decide on a research career. My experience with it tells me it tends to be more concept and writing intensive, but the math itself isn't terrible (adding subtracting multiplying etc). That being said, I would try to take one that will give you a good background, so not necessarily the easiest one! 🙂

Thank you! Do you have a link to the Cornell threads? I can't seem to find one to post in.

I'd be happy to answer some of your questions (I was ansci there for undergrad). Collegeconfidential is probably a better site to use for undergrad specific questions by the way, I used to use it and they have a whole sub forum dedicated to Cornell.
