I'd say Baylor probably within like a week or so of the 15th? But I'm just completely guestimating 😳

But then again, keep in mind they informed like a couple days after the 15th last year, and that was even with two of their interview days being wiped out by Hurricane Ike. So they've interviewed more applicants at this point than they had last year... so I don't see any reason to believe you WOULDN'T see at least a few acceptances go out the week of the 15th.

But not everyone will hear something then. Just a lucky few. Baylor could ignore us until March. 🙁

Does anybody have many more interviews from now until then? I have one on the 13th. That may either distract me or make me more nervous, who knows.

Nothing for me until the last Week of October, 4 in one week! But I have class to keep me busy I guess.
 
"decision" week (oct 12 - 19) is the only week that i dont have an interview since the last week of august and until the second week of december. kinda regretting it now
 
For snail mail notification, do they send it on the 15th? or they send it a few days before so it gets here on the 15th?? I know its stupid question, but let the neuroticism begin! :meanie:

I think sent on 15th, so you might get it couple days later.

For the 2 schools I hope to hear from, it is the 16th. Someone said that the 16th is the actual date for all schools, but that rule seems to be getting twisted if not broken by more schools each year who are notifying people earlier and earlier, albeit "unofficially" however much that really matters.
 
Man I wish UCSD did not change how early they give decisions, or else I would be in the same boat as you guys. Good luck to all!
 
so Vandy and UVA are snail mail - right? I feel like they said they'd SEND it on the 16th. That's a Friday. Not ok. So we wouldn't get anything until the next Monday at the earliest. So I'm not going to be nervous on the 15th!!! Anyone know if they call too?
 
One week left ...

I'm getting asked every day at work/by friends/by family members if I've heard anything. One way or another, I'll soon know something (maybe).

I was thinking to myself today, that getting two rejections on the 15th will be very hard to take.

This. I am trying to view the 15th as just another day...but it is so hard. Luckily, I have three midterms that I am not studying enough for between now and then...
 
Anyone have any ideas to make the next week pass super fast??

Absolutely a good thing. I made the mistake of telling my parents when my MCAT scores would be released so they bugged me about it when the date was getting closer. Added a lot of un-needed stress. I say all this despite the fact that my parents would be the first to know if I did get accepted. It'll just be out of the blue, haha.

Do you think they send the letters out on the 15th so we will get them early the next week or they send them out so they arrive on the 15th/16th? Im waiting to hear from 1 school by snail mail so Im thinking it prolly wont be for 2 weeks if they dont send it out until the 15th.

I've heard that they send them out on the 15th/16th. So, it's not like an Amazon Pre-order unfortunately 🙁. This is how I'm expecting my Vanderbilt waitlist...snail mail.
 
man i could hear from up to 5 schools. i have a hard time believing some of the acceptance rates since it involves ppl accepted of the waitlist, people withdrawing after interview/before decision etc

and then theres the thing about acceptance rate % on oct 15th compared to later (do schools want to fill quick or slow, whatnot)

im just gonna stay busy next week as much as possible

what is the "thing" about that?
 
i have no clue. some schools waitlist most ppl and pull a little so they dont over accept or whatever. no real use in thinking about it now, or i guess ever though.

Man if you are expecting to hear from 5 schools on the 15th, what the hell are you worried for.... Some people still submitting secondaries.

dont they START contacting people on the 15th? do they inform everyon on the 15th??

I was under the impression that they begin contacting students on the 15th and that they take a few days to call you. I guess waiting on the 15th for a call would be worse than waiting for the october 15 itself.

if you thought you were crazy for checking your email now, wait till the 15th when you'll check your email every 5 mins. Some of you will probably call their own phones to make sure they're working xP

btw waiting on Upstate =O

haha, try having a job where you're at your computer at least 50% of the day... and leaving your gmail open in the background the whole time just so you can see the "Gmail - Inbox (1)" header. :laugh:
