I was under the impression that they begin contacting students on the 15th and that they take a few days to call you. I guess waiting on the 15th for a call would be worse than waiting for the october 15 itself.

It varies from school to school. Case Western and Ohio State both told me "we will have your admissions decisions ready before October 15th, but we have to wait till October 15th to say anything. so check your status pages on October 15th and you'll get word."

You can view the 2008-2009 Acceptance/Waitlist threads to take a look at the methods different schools used to send admissions decisions and when they did based on interview date to get a rough idea.
 
If a school says they'll e-mail at 12:01 AM ... is that local time? What if a school on the East Coast accepts a west coaster? Would he receive the e-mail at 9:01 pm?
 
anyone going to be at an interview on the 15th? I can see the scenario already

"Hold on a sec I need to take this call....."
"YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOHOO I'M IN!"
"...where were we? Why X? Just in case I didnt get that call"

I'm assuming you're talking about Michigan since I think they are the only school that does this. And I would think that they don't care enough to send the emails out at 4 different times. Besides, you could be vacationing at the time. I'd go with 9:01, but I'm not sure.

I asked the same question on the U of Michigan thread. I'd guess it is 9:01 pm tomorrow for west coasters

I am so nervous I want to puke... I am waiting for 2 schools... and I hope one of them likes me cause I don't have any more interviews lined up yet
 
I don't know when mine are going to come exactly, so I'm not even nervous. Weird.

Same...I think it just hasn't hit me yet...if I get a status change email I don't think I would be able to open it
 
dude i got my mind made up that im rejected so that i could focus on my other interviews for now. its kinda scary
 
I hope the days following Oct 15 result in a large number of invites.
 
I was only a little nervous for October 15, but all the anxiety in this thread is contagious.

This is freaking awsome! 36 hours to go before acceptances start going out! 4 years of hard work and striving ends this week for some!

Personally I can't wait for friday! Interviewed at 6 schools so far, have a shot at 5, hearing from 2 on the 16th.

USUHS, my #1 school said they would be calling with acceptances and mail out letters on this day.

MCW, my #3 said they will for sure be mailing out decisions and my host said I may or may not get an email.

Next week I should be hearing from SLU, week after that U of MN and Carver, well I am still a bit fuzzy about how their adcoms roll.

I mean seriously how stupid is the Associate dean at Gtown that he goes out of the country on the week that they are supposed to release decisions... They have to know how stressed people are and how badly they are waiting....

I am kind of lucky - packing to leave in a few hours for an interview tomorrow - won't get back home until late Thursday. This will take my mind off of it for the next 36-48 hours...

I have 2 schools I could hear from, and both are "Oct 16" notice releases...one via online status, and one via snail mail.

So realistically, I won't hear anything until Friday evening at the earliest...Friday will be one LOOONG day for me...and then I get to wait on the US mail, probably until early next week...so a LOOONG weekend for me, too...

Totally feel you here. I've had to write two papers between today and last night, and I can safely say they're some of the worst papers I've written in a while. Mentally...numb...cannot...synthesize...ideas...
 
18 hours to go before acceptances go out! I don't think I can take the excitement! Its like every christmas and birthday I have ever had all rolled into one!

What an awsome week! What an awsome day tomorrow will be! I have never been so jacked!
 
here's how bad its gotten:

I had an equity board meeting today. I had to prepare. HUGE meeting. What did i do all morning?

For what it's worth...

Someone told me that Creighton spilled the beans. If you went to Creighton and are accepted into their med school, it will say it on their "Blackboard" system when you look at your student status. Someone from Creighton told me that he and his friends looked and it said "Medical Student" in addition to "Undergraduate" and a couple of his friends who interviewed with him did not have this status....

I don't know why I am holding out hope for an email/call/mail tomorrow - none of the schools I interview at will have something for me yet.
