When is Yale going to get back to you guys?

chlorineK said:not that I am counting, but a week from today by email
DianaLynne said:well, as of now Yale is the only school I'm really waiting to hear from. I got the big NYET's from Cornell (my first postinterview rejection, it hurt... 🙁 )

bidster said:Dots aren't that bad. The worst things about this time of the year are stress and anxiety compounded with those girl scouts running around, "innocently" pushing THEIR DAMNED COOKIES. 😱
One of my roommate's moms sent roughly 8 boxes of them. Keeping a "look, don't touch" policy is agony in the vicinity of samoas and thin mints....mmmm thin mints [lapse into vacant Homer-Simpson-like look].... 🙄

5 more sleeps. Here's to the place where Bill met Hillary.

I think it's 3/23.whitecoat09 said:is 3/22 the definite date?
whitecoat09 said:i interviewed in january, and the 22nd came straight from silverman
sockandmittens said:At the end of feb they were still citing the 22nd according to my friend who interviewed then.
Supernova said:how do we check the status?
Mateodaspy said:Acceptance/Rejection/Waitlist emails will be sent out on Tuesday. Snail mail letters will soon follow.
whitecoat09 said:i know silverman told you this on the last interview day, but the last 2 years only emails went to acceptances and waitlists...high waitlist was also specified
i don't know what's worse: no email = rejection or hi, you're rejected
knock on wood!!!

Mateodaspy said:silverman told me they would def. be sent out on tuesday. and when i asked him "so everyone will get an e-mail, no matter what their status is?"
and he told me: "you will definitely be getting an e-mail on mar. 22"
so, i assume that means everyone will be hearing from yale around tomorrow afternoon?
Yea, considering whitecoat09's previous post about only acceptees & waitlisters getting emails, Mateodaspy was probably fishing for that comment. Congrats on getting into Yale, Mateodaspy.......whitecoat09 said:he said that because "you" are "definitely" getting in! 😉 (or at least a waitlist)![]()

Phoenix3000 said:Does anyone know if MSTP applicants will be notified tomorrow too?
Thanks!
jjmack said:I believe sue told me this, but I am not totally sure. I know they had their meeting to rank applications the first week of March. Hope this helps.
stormpr said:i heard from a good source that emails are being sent wednesday and letters are being sent tomorrow. sorry to burst anyone's bubble. 🙁 i know mine is....
jjmack said:why does everyone else feel emails are going out on 3/22? I am confused.
sockandmittens said:Admissions decisions released today by the Yale School of Medicine
show a higher acceptance rate for women than men, reflecting a recent
trend at the school.
The medical school received 3,708 applications this year, the most in
its history and 8 percent more than last year's total of 3,464, for an
overall acceptance rate of about 4.6 percent. More than 53 percent of
the 172 acceptances released today were for women, though only 47
percent of applicants were female.

VeggieGal said:so was there ever a consensus on when they are going to send these alleged emails? i don't want to be hitting send-receive all day long.
Cosmodion said:However! there was a presentation done about the 2004 August MCAT and it actually showed a positive correlation between the number of times the applicant (unsuccessfully) checked their score and the size of the score itself. All by the way of saying, theres nothing wrong with being nervous and checking your status alot.

I remember the night the April scores were coming out, I was clicking refresh impatiently every minute, and then when I spotted an actual update to the page, I had to cover the screen with a phone book for few minutes before I worked up the guts to look. 🙄
Mateodaspy said:So, I called the admissions office today to ask if e-mails would be sent out today. The lady acted all confused and eventually told me that letters were mailed today and that e-mails *might* start being sent out on Wednesday, and then continuing on Thursday and Friday. 😡
