well, as of now Yale is the only school I'm really waiting to hear from. I got the big NYET's from Cornell (my first postinterview rejection, it hurt... 🙁 ) and Vermont (which was actually in my top two when this whole crazy process began. Remember how life was then, we were so innocent, not yet sullied by interviews and applications...)

So, at this point: PLEASE ACCEPT ME, YALE! I'm ever so smart and cute and enthusiastic! I'll show up to class everyday! I'll even start my own clinic! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!

Now that the somewhat pathetic begging is done, good luck everyone! Six days!

Dots aren't that bad. The worst things about this time of the year are stress and anxiety compounded with those girl scouts running around, "innocently" pushing THEIR DAMNED COOKIES. 😱

One of my roommate's moms sent roughly 8 boxes of them. Keeping a "look, don't touch" policy is agony in the vicinity of samoas and thin mints....mmmm thin mints [lapse into vacant Homer-Simpson-like look].... 🙄

i interviewed in january, and the 22nd came straight from silverman
i think in past years, the exact date changed over the interview season

I think that date still holds....in an earlier post, someone who interviewed earlier this month (Mateodaspy I think?) also quoted Silverman on the 22nd.

i know silverman told you this on the last interview day, but the last 2 years only emails went to acceptances and waitlists...high waitlist was also specified

i don't know what's worse: no email = rejection or hi, you're rejected

I admittedly just looked that up (my ulcer told me that if I didn't, it would grow bigger)....last year the emails went out around noon/early afternoon.

And with that, I announce my withdrawal from SDN until midnight. I can manage going cold turkey for 12.5 hours....I think....

and he told me: "you will definitely be getting an e-mail on mar. 22"

so, i assume that means everyone will be hearing from yale around tomorrow afternoon?

as for me, i don't feel any anticipation/nerves at all. its odd; in my estimation, my chances of actually being accepted are so slim that i've developed an almost zen-like apathy towards the events of 3.22.05. kind of a letdown, but it sure beats an ulcer!

I believe sue told me this, but I am not totally sure. I know they had their meeting to rank applications the first week of March. Hope this helps.

I know someone posted a while back that they called to see if several forms he/she mailed into the financial aid office had arrived there, and the financial aid office said that they hadn't gone through the mail yet and to call back later. Well, I called last week for the same purpose, and they told me that they weren't able to tell me if they got the tax forms I sent them until I was an accepted student - has anyone else been able to call and confirm that their financial aid information was received? Also, was anyone else told that if you got the forms in early enough that you might get a financial aid package if offered an acceptance?

I think there should be some emails today (hopefully one sent to me, please please) because Silverman told Matteodapsy and he seems a quite reliable source!

show a higher acceptance rate for women than men, reflecting a recent
trend at the school.

The medical school received 3,708 applications this year, the most in
its history and 8 percent more than last year's total of 3,464, for an

If you click on the Yale paper link or read above, it seems as if the acceptances will be known today.

I'd like to share that this morning has been really reminiscent of that october afternoon where we got our MCATs back online. So much checking....

However! there was a presentation done about the 2004 August MCAT and it actually showed a positive correlation between the number of times the applicant (unsuccessfully) checked their score and the size of the score itself. All by the way of saying, theres nothing wrong with being nervous and checking your status alot. Good luck to all!

I remember the night the April scores were coming out, I was clicking refresh impatiently every minute, and then when I spotted an actual update to the page, I had to cover the screen with a phone book for few minutes before I worked up the guts to look. 🙄
