I am off the alternate list from Colorado, and need to make my decision urgently. I realy like to have some advice!

The thing is, I have accepted the offer from Tufts; and I really liked its program when I visited the school. For Colorado, I have heard some good things about it, but as a non-sponsored applicant, I did not have an interview. So I don't have much idea what the school or their program is like.

If you haven't already I would do a search and see if you can find some other posts about both schools. Someone may have already have had to make the same descision.

I just recently made my decision to attend Colorado State University. Like you, I am off the waiting list and a non-sponsored student. From what I have heard about the program from the vets that I work with, it's a great program. You just learn everything. They even go into some accupuncture and alternative medicine. I also hear it is very hands on in your first year and you get to do some wet labs where you actually get to examin live animals. They advise you to get a stethoscope for your first year. They also have some hands on field trips and they go to a lot of veterinary conferences. You can ask to visit the school and they will be glad to set up a time for you to visit. I plan on doing that. I'm excited about going there. Find some people who have heard about the program or have been through the program to help you make your decision. The reason why I'm going there is because that is the only school that accepted me. Research it out and make your decision as soon as you can. No matter what, you'll make the right decision.

I was in a similar situation so I understand that it is a difficult choice.
I have always wanted to go to CSU for veterinary school. I know some awesome veterinarians that went to school there and loved it, plus Colorado is a beautiful area.
Unfourtunately by the time I made it off the alternate list at CSU I had already accepted at Cornell.
If I was to give any advice to you I would encourage you to consider that Tufts is also a really good program. I liked Tufts a lot when I visited there. If I were in you shoes (and I was in a way) I would stick with Tufts since you have already committed.
On the other hand, this is the next four years of your life and your career, so you should do what you feel is the right thing. If you're not super excited to about Tufts than maybe you should consider Colorado afterall.
Good luck and congratulations on both acceptances. You won't go wrong either way!

Thank you so much for all your suggestions! I've been thinking a lot and talked to different people. I guess I will stick to my commitment to Tufts! 🙂
