I love how insanely positive this whole community is. When I first found the forum, I was worried it was going to be filled with snarky anxious people but instead it was filled with amazingly wonderful anxious people. It makes me feel less alone through this process which constantly feels isolating and competitive. Can't wait for us all to be peers!

I just asked a current student this question, there is no required colors for scrubs! (You will have to wear navy blue scrub tops for physical exam practices, but other than that, no required colors!)

My gf was placed as an alternate for the Vet Prep program, and so we were wondering if anyone knows if they typically pull many students off the waitlist, or how many people are typically WL?

I would guess probably not and to plan on hearing after April 15.

It probably is highly dependent year-to-year, but I feel like most schools wait until mid-April.

Could it happen? Sure, I guess. Should anyone plan on it? Absolutely not.

Hugs to anyone on any waitlist, it’s nerve wracking to have an unknown on the board! ❤️

At the end of the day, It’s a huge accomplishment in itself, and definitely attend the Showcase on 3/8 if you’re interested in potentially accepting the spot, but hang tight.

Unfortunately there’s just not a lot of info. From what I can learn from others here, the OOS waitlist tends to move a bit, but that’s again dependent on the year.

But for VP, I’m really not sure, and I’m sorry for the additional stress of waiting. My hope would be it moves some, since some accepted who maybe got into their IS etc would decline?
 
I'm on the waitlist and will try to come to the showcase virtually. I've been admitted to another school so I'm really nervous about what to do if I get off the waitlist. Mildly panicing

Hi there! 🤓 I emailed admissions about this and was told that it could move before April 15th but not to expect much correspondence before that time. It's hard to wait for an answer, and my best advice (advice I am also going to follow) is to trust your intuition if you've already been accepted elsewhere, and not bank on the unknown too much after April 😌

I have told myself that I will move forward considering and accepting a school, and lightly consider during this process how I feel re: CSU based on the showcase, but to kinda not think about them while I’m deciding - the worst that will happen if you choose another school and get off the waitlist after the deadline is:

A. You choose CSU and you lose your deposit and have to reroute plans

B. You decide to move forward with the school you chose because you realize you really like them etc., so no to CSU, and another off the waitlist gets a shot!

Either way, we’ll all be vets! Big hugs, if you want to chat/vent my DMs are always open.

I reaaallllyyyyy hate uncertainty, so @Squirrel Girl thanks for your amazing mantra, that will help!

I think there may have been a time many years ago they went through their waitlist and had to accept others but schools these days make their waitlists much bigger to prevent this from happening

I accepted my offer at Oregon! It was a tough choice and Colorado is a freakin' awesome school, it does pain me to say no to that equine breeding program and the podiatry rotation and everyone I met was super friendly but I think the smaller class size at Oregon will probably fit me best.
I won't lie that amazing lunch at Colorado had me hesitant 😂 They came out full swing with the carne asada & tacos. DON'T GET BIT BY A RATTLESNAKE WHILE YOU'RE THERE.

Anyone else worried about not receiving an email if taken off the waitlist? I never got an email about my waitlist and with the 2 day turnaround I'm a bit stressed
 
I just declined my non-sponsored seat! Never in a million years did I think I would be fortunate enough to say that, but I ultimately just chose my cheapest option. I am hoping someone gets good news very soon! I am so very proud of all of you, and good luck!! <3
