I still havent heard a thing. Maybe thats good at this point. Seems to me less good news and more bad news right now. I think my reject letter should be on its way.
Thanks, I'm hoping my hold is just a delayed acceptance 🙂
good luck Mr. Belding, last week they met on both Tue and Wed, so perhaps they will again this week!
umm...so if I have yet to recieve a secondary is this a done deal for me? please say no...
Hi there,
sorry to hear about you being put on hold, but that's a good attitude to approach the whole deal. If you're still interested in Davis, definitely send an update/interest letter of some sort even after getting the hold letter. It seemed to work for me, I got a call right before the May 15 deadline, which meant I got my money back from the school where I'd sent a deposit 🙂
Good luck and hang in there!
im feelin' it today...some sort of answer is bound to come.

anything today?
I thought I might chime in with some info I got from Davis. I interviewed there just recently, and was told not to expect to hear back from them until late March or early April. I know you guys have been waiting for a while, but I am not sure they have been sending out acceptances all that consistently, and might be sending out their letters in batches. Also, they told us that even now in the middle of February, that they have only interviewed about half of their interviewees. Dr. Bera also said that they are probably going to interview about 500 students, and mail about 200 acceptances . . . so in the general, statistical, scheme of things, at least there is that to think about. I dunno if that helps, hurts or is just a step sideways, but I figured y'all might want to know. Good luck to you guys (and man, am I glad to finally be able to start posting on this thread!)
dear lord. sorry it's taken them so long. hopefully now though they're gonna start moving things along with everyone settled into the new campus . . .
Thanks for the thought Mr. Belding. I actually interviewed a few days ago. Kinda funny actually, mine was a little less than relaxed, with a more question/answer type format. But w/e. People said he was that way to everyone. lol. ANYhow, hope you guys get some good news soon!
How long did they tell you that you will be waiting?
send letters of interest if you really want to come to Davis. It helps!!
Davis really wants students that want to be here..
BTW.. 👍 👍 I love the school, love the new facility!!
good luck!!![]()
Already did. Still havent heard a thing. How is the move from Davis to Sacto? I feel like the college feel is going to be lost with that. There isnt exactly a whole lot to do where the medical center is located as compared to Davis which is pretty much a college town.
Actually, the college feel wasn't very good in Davis either. The old med campus wasn't very close to the regular campus, and there wasn't much interaction with the undergrad students (unless you wanted to bike to the undergrad campus for lunch or something). The idea with the move is to make it easier to interact with advisors and "big sibs" which can help you with anything you need. If you want research opportunities, you got it.. you want shadowing experiences, you got it. It was a pain having to drive from Davis to Sac for all those things, and if you're still in need of the undergrad social life (didn't get enough??! =)) you can always just drive to Davis for Thursday night bar nights.. But the idea is to immerse yourself in medicine, and being on a hospital campus surrounded by attendings, residents and 3rd/4th yrs helps you out quite a bit.
There is more than enough to do in Sacramento; midtown has a decent bar scene and Sac state is here as well, giving you the college feel at many different places. Sac state is very close to the med campus here in Sacramento so you won't be disappointed. I see a lot of students at various coffee shops in the area (yes, I'm a coffee house *****)..
Trust me, everything is better with the move. The education building is open for your access 24/7 and it's pretty slick.
Anyways, good luck with your decisions!
I called them a few hours ago and it just rang and rang...
so I gave them about fifteen minutes to finish whatever they were doing- eating babies or kicking puppies or whatever it is that people who work in admissions offices do.
When I called back the line was busy.
I either a) caught them at the tail-end of a good puppy kicking session the first time I called and they then resumed to be busy or b(more likely)) they got caller id, saw it was me calling again, and took the phone off the hook.
Seriously. I will stop calling if they just give me a response.
Scout's honor.
anyone coming to second look wknd?
anyone coming to second look wknd?
I'd love to go. I just have to get through the whole pesky "getting accepted" part of the process first. Well, it's only been a month, but still. Davis, why can't you love me as much as I love you?
When is second look weekend? Thus far, I'm only going to one, so I have a fairly open schedule... come on UCs send out letters already!
I know it seems like eternity but you'll hear soon enough! I'd say by mid March for most of you.
I did finally get an acceptance to Davis after waiting almost four months myself, but I will not be keeping it. Good Luck to all of you! There'll be an extra spot for one of you soon!
