I'm an alum at Davis.... Don't worry about housing. There's always some place available there. Trust me.
You might want to look at Chatauqua & Casitas. Anything ran by Tandem Properties is really good. I had good experiences with the above mentioned. There's always university housing, but it gets really expensive!!!
Good luck.... You might want to call the Health Science advising office. Sometimes they have med students who need housing. You can also request them to post in on the list-serve which is sent out to many students.
