Technology Dell Laptops

Even though I'm sure there so many laptop threads...I am considering buying a dell laptop to start MS1 in August. Does anyone have any suggestions/comments about Dell laptops in general, which features are an absolute must have, which are useless, etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I don't have a ton of money to spend!

Must-haves: internal Bluetooth (if it's even an option yet) and definitely internal WiFi. If you're going to be using the laptop away from an electrical outlet (rare, but possible), then an extra battery is an absolute must.

I'm guessing the USB bluetooth modules are just as good?

Yea, the USB Bluetooth adapters work just as well, but if you get the internal option, it's one less thing to worry about and one less thing sticking out of your laptop.

In the coming months, several Bluetooth devices will be released that will make everyone want Bluetooth on their laptop if they use it for presentations. More wireless mice is on the horizon, but for us presenters out there, Bluetooth presentation devices to advance Powerpoint slides are on the way.

The only bluetooth device that I've actually seen being used, was my friend's Logitech headset (for his cell):

It's pretty sweet.

In terms of wireless wice, Logitech has them out already (plus this sleek media keyboard, also bluetooth compatible).

Bluetooth mice are out already, but I've yet to see any small, notebook size Bluetooth mice.

I was using Apple's Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but it's not as responsive as their wired versions (the keyboard is fine, even with me typing 120 wpm). I switch back and forth between using them. I use it unless I have to do detailed work (like Photoshop).

The Bluetooth headsets are the bomb! I've had a Motorola V600 for about a year now, and I have to say, being able to drive down the road without holding a handset and without having wires dangling from your ears is pretty sweet. I'm thinking of getting a Bluetooth car adapter for my phone... although I'm thinking of upgrading to the Motorola RAZR V3. Such the gadget geek I am!
