Besides the military scholarships, does anybody know of (or have received) a scholarship to help supplement the cost of tuition and living expenses? How about research scholarships? Any sort of grant out there for us? Also, what is the max amoutn one can qualify for Federal loans? For example (the most extreme i guess) does the amount matter if a sinlge student from a wealthy family or a married man/woman with 5 kids, no cars, no house...? Thanks in advance

I have NEVER heard of a dental scholarship. There are loans/grants out there for people...but no scholarships from schools that I have heard of..

There are definitely dental scholarships and most are school-specific. For instance, you have the Dean's scholarship at UPenn and the Dental Foundation of NC at UNC. Most of these are not all-encompassing like the military scholarships, but they are money nonetheless...

There are a few scholarships available at UCLA for sure, including Regents and Dean's scholarships among others. I think UoP also has a small Dean's scholarship. These types of scholarships are usually merit-based.

BU also offers merit based scholarship to its top 10% incoming class. Anywhere from 500 to half ride.

There are definately scholarships, some academic, some race based....you def have a better shot if your a minority. I don't know much about it, however friends of mine have def received some. I'm going the military route, and as such I'm not worrying about it.

Theres the national health service corps scholarship.. they pay for everything and give you a stipend like the military. But you have to agree to practice in an underserved area for a few years when you finish... no deployment though (i consider it a bonus)
