.... you may want to read Dr. Norman Gevitz "The DO: Osteopathic Medicine in America" .... your first exam is based on....

JP, your projects sound interesting! Did you do any research at Davis? I'm wondering if you had prior experience in what you did for your projects at DMU. Is there an animal research facility there?
Prad, I'm glad to hear Darci's OK 🙂 Yeah, it's scary to think of all the things we'll be exposed to, but oh well, I'm sure it'll be worth it! And we have got to get our hands into the research going on at DMU!

Wow, such a sudden rush in the rate of conversation flow here!
I've always thought that Sac State was one of the better CSUs!
Hey JP, I'm a fellow UC grad! Though not an Ag... Davis was actually my first choice for undergrad, but Cal was a bit more generous in the $$ part of the equation.

Been there done that... but I'm hitting Iserson right now.
Jane!!! How are you? Your right about the research, I do want to do some. More importantly I want to go to the AOA convention in new orleans never been there before.😉
Hey popoy, you going to be around in July when I get there I'd love to meet you.

I should still be around. I'm planning on doing an internship for my masters at the Department of Public Health..... It would be nice to get together....
REMIND ME.... I have a copy of the notes for your first weeks class called "Intro to Osteopathic Medicine." I can give those to you guys when y'all get here.... The current first years loved it because all you have to do is sit back and highlight the notes.... Just remind me when the time comes and I'll email it to anyone that needs or wants it....

Prad, isn't the Iserson book so informative?? He seems a bit down on DOs in some parts, but all the info and advice he gives more than makes up for it.
JP, my old roommate was Math/CS. Spent all her time in the computer lab. What year is your sis?

What do you guys think?

Hey Popoy, your a moderator, maby you can help me out with this. I really want to get a "150,000 dollars in debt and all I got was this stupid stethoscope" T-shirt.
I saw it on sdn, when I first started, but now it's gone. 🙁
All they have now is the coffee mug. Do you think they'll ever bring back the t-shirt?

There was an M.D. (I don't know if he/she was a student, resident, etc) who said that PM&R is a specialty where D.O.s have the advantage. This was a few months ago, and I don't remember what thread it was posted in...sorry...
What are the main differences between those two conferences, JP?

AOA Convention = as you know, full of pharm companies, and a lot of law making issues and current medical issues.... not much OMM
AAO Convocation = more OMM and how OMM can be incorporated into surgery, FP, IM, peds, OB/Gyn, etc....
Whoa...it really pays to be involved! You must have some kick-butt time management skills, JP! Is the AAO Convocation always in international places(i.e. not necessarily in the US)?

Nope, last year it was in Virginia. The year previous to that it was Colorado.... This year the reason we're in Ottawa is that DOs are now FULLY licensed in Ottawa when a couple of years ago we were somewhat limited...

That's freakin' hilarious.... 😀!!!

We are making progress! This is very good news...do they have osteo. med schools in Ottawa? or anywhere else in Canada?
That's frakin' hilarious.... 😀!!!

Nope, no med school there YET!!! 😉
Seriously, I won't be shock if we see 10 osteo schools pop up in the next 20-30 years.... maybe international. There are DO's workin' in places like Argentina, Chile, Australia.... It's gettin' there...

Ya tell the higher uppers that people want that T-shirt. I want to buy several pairs, so that when I'm in residency and I'm working the ER, and patients b!tch about waiting a half hour to see me, I can just point to the T-shirt.
