Well that Beh Med test was dumb. I went to class. I read the book. I studied, felt I knew the material and could apply it and still barely passed the test. What kind of test is that? Class average was a 76% so atleast a little better than last year, but are you telling me that a class that averages a 90 on a biochem test, is so dumm that all of a sudden they can only average a 75 on a test. That is teaching plain and simple, and it's not getting done in this class. No one knew what to actually study, how to focus their attention, and actually gain some usefullness from the lectures/PP's. Jamers is right that it does turn you off for this class for sure, especially when you put the effort it and still get stung.

I agree with you a 100% soundman...i felt like i knew the material, i made sure to read the book, and i still didn't do well. I even took Thursday night off from Biochem to study Behavioral Med....and a lot good that did me 😡 Now, I'm kinda getting scared since there's only one more Behavioral Med exam and there's probalby nothing I would change about the way I studied for this exam...well except for the whole part about skipping some classes🙄
Whatever, i guess i just have to focus on Biochem now. anybody else really confused about lipids---especially since it wasn't really taught that well.

I have now started dreaming about Biochemistry....sometimes it actually helps, and sometimes it hurts (like when I am being chased by acetyl-CoA)........I hate my life.

Dude, I've been dreaming about biochem for about the past 2 weeks. It's so bad, I woke my fiance up from talking in my sleep about the CAC.

Absolutely ridiculous.

By the way, you were very close to guessing my score on todays test, just add 2 points, so I was pleased. Hope everyone else was pleased with their results.🙂

Get used to it, last year we had a week in which we had 4 tests (on Thurs, Fri, Monday and Tuesday) with 2 quizes on Friday and Monday thrown in for good measure. It was without a doubt the worst week of MS I and the least amount of sleep since my time in the Army at Fort Hood TX.
 
Just wondering if anyone could direct me to or tell me where I can find a list of rotations for third and fourth year. Thanks😉

Anyone else **** their pants when they saw that 7 questions were changed for the Beh Med Exam? Seems like a lot, I couldn't believe it... Thanks to all those changes, I actually passed- maybe I'll actually study more next time... NAH! Have a good weekend everyone

yea, only gave me two more right though, guess I'm just a hopeless cause. The panel was good though today, OTOH the second lecture was per normal, won't be attending any of those lectures in which that person lectures again.

Jumping the gun a bit? It was just last week that they eeked out a 4 pt. win over GT. They have all the talent in the world, and it's only getting better over the next years, so I'd be shocked if they didn't win a national championship at least once in the next 5 years.

But until then, I'll continue to root against them.

Yea, I figured that the only way I'd get credit for predicting a nat'l championship (and not accused of "jumping on the bandwagon" in a month) was to make the bold statement now...

Understandable. All that rich Notre Dame tradition just makes me sick, or at least that's the excuse I like to use. In reality, I'm just jealous, since I'm forced to watch my team (Illinois) get their ass handed to them on a weekly basis, unless they're playing a Division I -AA team.

Only person I talked to was Kurt. Kelley shed no love my way 🙁 I was going to go in, but since the netters or nothing was in the locker I didn't go. I was at school studying but not in the lab. Oh well was it good?

Are there going to be more questions, because I don't think I got this one right? Just look at how it's written. It's ambivalent and totally objective. There is no possible right answer and all of the choices could be correct. I need some more questions to raise my point total or I'm going to fail this class.

Yay, posted the first note set for notepool. Did a little Biochem, and now going to bed. The only question is whether or not to go to beh med tomorrow morning or well sleep in....
 
I'm looking for the mp3 of today's beh med lecture and it's not around, or atleast i'm not findning it in the usual spot. It was lecture 24 for Intimate Partner Violence. Guess I'm flying solo on this one.
 
Behavioral medicine wasn't too bad today. You should find what you need off the slides

On another note, did anyone else find it really creepy to chisel through the vertebrae today? I'm so glad Dr. Matz did that for us but the sound of chiseling through bone grossed me out. ewww that's just not natural. Once inside though, it was totally awesome.

Honestly, I thought that it was the coolest lab we've done so far!

I don't think we've met yet. Any hints to your identity?
 
If you thought that was bad there will plenty of other ones much worse than that. One of my favs was the Facial m. dissection. Skinning a human's face to get to the facial mm. & nn. is something that can be a little different if things like that bother you. I actually thought that was the coolest b/c you don't have to dig through a ton of fat, but I know a lot of people didn't like it.

Then there's the day where you try to get to the ear canal through the sphenoid...bring your hammers, chisels, & reciprocating bone saws!!
 
I'm home with the family and then I'll go back tonight after dinner to study. Class time is always good as well :laugh:
