Booya! 400 baby! I am now = to 1/5 of a jbone.
nite!
nite!
For the sake of all of us Jamers, I hope your retirement from SDN is a short one...I tried to post this before but they decided to do work on SDN the minute I was submitting it.
To say that our thread has done nothing but cause harm is to admit that one has not read the entire thread (there are two parts). Not to mention the fact that jbone, soundman, dj (just to name a few) have done nothing but support DMU on and off SDN. If it were not for them, many of the people on the fence about this school never would have attended here. Don't believe me, the DMU 2011 thread is just around the corner, ask them yourself.
Whats more, all we did was come on a forum to blow off steam. Is this worse than what others have done in the past through alcohol and various other means? In addition, is not what we did the same as those who write opinionated articles? And, like those articles, can one not simply click away and choose not to read or believe what we have written? I know a few of you will respond to that with: the people that come on here are impressionable. I answer back: most are applying to medical school or have already gotten accepted, the last time I checked that took some individual thought and decision making processes (these are not children we are talking about, these are young adults that can make up their own minds).
But, since a few have, once again, decided the fate of the many, I will no longer write on SDN. Good bye and I hope, for your own fate, that some of you realize life needs a sense of humor.
For the sake of all of us Jamers, I hope your retirement from SDN is a short one...
Anyone care to temporarily donate their body to me for some full-body treatments? I haven't done a single one... I promise I'll make you feel good 😉 I'll gladly lone you my self in return!
Hey guys,
Just a quick question regarding something non-controversial (j/k) that I thought someone was discussing early in the year; Did any of you upgrade the RAM for your school-issued laptop??
I read an article that said getting some extra RAM for your computer can make it work a lot less hard & can actually prolong the life of your computer. If any of you have done this, how much RAM & how much $$ is it going to cost me?
What about installation?? I can take apart a small engine & put it back together, but am scared to death to do anything to a computer myself. Is this something that the SEC Help Desk people would do for you? Thanks all.
I heard a rumor from someone at IT that they were going to be adding RAM to everyone's computer this spring or summer.
They weren't sure about it... but they said that it is being discussed.
I'm going to hold out just a bit longer.
They can just take it off my tuition, since I already did it.![]()
Probably the wrong time for this...
But I don't get neuro. Someone please tell me that this will make sense to me anytime soon!!! I'm so confused.😕 😕
BTW, to those of you who don't know already, #3 is now on the way. Yea, I know...
Now back to neuro...I love it.
Congrats! but what the heck is in the water. That's 3 of you guys in like a 6 week span.
Congrats jbone!!
When is the due date?
If all goes well, our 1st should be due around December 20th.
Geez you guys must not be busy enough! I couldn't imagine balancing school and kids at the same time. I'm burned out enough as it is...WTH?????????????????????? LOL!! Congrats little buddy.
Wow, things are really kickin here at DMU.![]()
(Probably in November...we find out for sure on Wed)
A word of advice, try to keep them at least 2 years apart. Not 1 year like me.It's suicidal.
Thanks Boner! Really appreciate that comment- glad to hear that you weren't scared off...I don't know any specifics about the e-mail you guys were talking about earlier, but just to show some support for the 2010 thread I'll say that you guys have most definitely been instrumental in both me and my wife's decision to attend. You guys go out of your way to show prospective students how great DMU really is and the administration should praise you for that. This is your thread. If someone doesn't like it, then they don't have to participate in the fun. I look forward to venting about school in the 2011 thread and hope you keep doing the same as well. It's refreshing to see some real emotion come out of DMU students.
Also, Jamers, come back.
You know me, I'd get a review book....muhahahaha.
I'm using HY neuroanatomy for it atm, and it's had everything in it basically. First aid has some nice simplified things that provide a nice base. I've just looked at notes, no notepool or anything yet, so I'm probably behind you aways, knowing how you are probably caught up.😍 😍
Well, I've purchased 3:Hey Soundman or anyone for that matter. 😀 I'm a class of 2011er...just curious of your opinion since you seem to be big into the review books. What review books for 1st year courses have you liked and also went well with the DMU curriculum? Thanks!
PS...I've loved your class's thread. It brings validity to the amazing interview day it seems everyone has there...its like a whole med school full of REAL people! Amazing concept![]()
Grandma gave you guys a little present today![]()

Couldn't agree more. Great post-There are plenty of review books...most of them are good, although not all are popular. Early on in your year you need to make the decision of making the 'grades' or preparing for the boards...because they are entirely two different things. You can completely understand a particular subject (board prep) and yet score way below average on your tests at DMU...because our exams are very specific on details for the most part, you are not likely to find these anywhere else, except in notepool/class notes. Its just something that you have to put up with to move on with your courses. Just read over notepool couple times and you'll do well. The real learning for most people comes from excellent texts and review books.
More importantly, keep in mind that these are 'review' books...get to know the good texts at library for reference...and at last, get to know what works for YOU.
What Rocks: Only 26 days left
What Sucks: The Packers used their 1st round selection on a DT that played less that HALF of his senior season. WTF!?
I'm down for OMM practice and some full body action (not that kind jbone) any time this week. My practical is Tuesday at 3. Peace out-
Amen FS; I haven't even looked at Phys or PD since the last respective tests. I have the OMM practical on Tuesday and that's it for this week. This warm weather sucks at motivating me to do any studying at all... The week of May 14th-18th should be fun. I hope I catch up by then-Why do i have nooooooooooo motivation. I know it's gonna bit me in the butt next week. I'm 25+ lectures behind and that still won't get me going. Who's with me???
