DMU self-proclaimed super-geniuses of the third row

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I am stoked to be coming to CPMS this coming fall and hope to one day also be a super-genius sitting in the third row!!! Thanks for all of your posts. They have been very helpful in my decision about which school to attend, and I feel that I'll be right at home at DMU!!! You guys rule!

Welcome!

Great to see a fellow Utah'n coming out to DMU. You will love it.

Ya, that is all we need, more students from Utah and Idaho!!!

The Lobos make the long trek up to Provo next weekend. I just hope they are alive for the long trip back.:meanie:

Ya, I would rather they not go! But to their defense, the road team has one the last 4 or 5 meetings between the two. That will probably end next week though.

I second these comments. I have spent a bit of time on campus other than during the interview day and I absolutely love it! I am absolutely psyched to start next fall and meet all my fellow classmates.

Jon, just so you remember how much better the class of 2008 is compared to the class of 07, we have 100% pass rate.

We're number 1.

Rutgers football is ranked 6th in the country.

Go Scarlet Knights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Krabmas i called that game before kickoff - i'm glad louisville got knocked out - i just can't wait till my wolverines destroy those arrogant buckeyes😀

They may be arrogant, but they've got the firepower. Michigan is going to have to play out of their minds to win this weekend. I'm going to be at the Gophers vs. Hawkeyes game; 100th meeting between the two schools and playing for Floyd of Rosedale. Should be a good one, though it has no effect on the BCS

That is awesome! Congrats to the '08 class! Hopefully we future CPMS students can keep this going!!!

I anticipate that this will be the game of the year! Hopefully it lives up to the hype, unlike OSU vs Texas earlier this year. It doesn't really matter who wins because Southern Cal will win out the rest of the season and win the National Title again! (atleast that is what the psychic told me)

🙄 laf. usc sux, again.

USC kick the Razorbacks tail the opening weekend...but... since then it has been a bunch of PIG SOOIE. the Bakcs would whoop anyone-YES
ANYONE in the nation right now. But as far as the road to the Big game-we may miss out. We'll beat LSU and Florida but unless USC loses we will be in another BCS game.
WOOOOOOO PIG SOOOIE RAZORBACKS!😀

I would take that bet. I have never been convinced that the SEC is as good as they think. That goes for the ACC too.

I believe what you said is true. the BCS has messed things up-making it more difficult to move up the polls and also more dofficult for some of the big schools to move down in the polls. As far as the SEC this year we are in the 75th percentile. Arkansas is in the 97th. We are just playing as well or better than anyone in the nation. OSU, Mich, Rut, BSU derserve more porps. Undefeated is undefeated(the Dolphins played a pillow fight schedule and went undefeated-but they did it). Most decent teams can beat what is considered a superior team on a given Saturday. I (personal opinion as this site encourages such things) Arkansas can play OSU or Mich and win as I also believe that USC could lose to Cal next week-if God hears my prayers that will be the case. What team has your affectionate vote😍?

i think arkansas is good and where they deserve. (they are in no way overrated like usc) but i dont think anyone in the nation can touch osu. no way. no one iwll convince me of that. you'll seeeee.

I'm a Nebraska fan; they are as good and bad as any team in the NCAA depending on when you tune into the game. They should have beat USC but Callahan played prevent offense. They scored in 2 minutes and Taylor went 7 for 8 just before half b/c they spread out the field and passed the ball. He end the game w/ 16 pass attempts (like I said he had 8 attempts in their TD drive).

I am not going to give BSU any props b/c they literally play no one. The same goes for BYU. They played 2 non conference games that were any good (BC and AZ) and lost them both. But everyone wants them in the top 20, why I'll never know.

Um, the Big 12 is not having that great of a year. All you have to do is look to Ames and Boulder and you will see what I mean. Plus, Nebraska played a really weak non-conference schedule this year.

Now you can't bag ISU to bad, they have had hands down the hardest schedule in the Big 12 and one of the hardest in the NCAA.

at UT
at OU
at Iowa
NU
TT
Mizzou

As for NU, they had 1 tough nonconference game which is more than I can say about most big programs. How was Iowa's non-conference, West Virgina, Wisconsin, ect.

The tough thing about schedules is they are made 5 to 6 years out. NU played ND when they stunk was that fair, heck no.

Maybe you guys should all open your own thread for this topic. This thread is reserved for those who call themselves super-geniuses and sit in the third row. If you meet that criteria from any school, you are welcome. After the last Neuro test, I dont think discussdan can call himself a super-genius anymore. Or anyone else in your class for that matter.

Super-geniuses don't talk about football... unless it's DA BEARS! So the 09's bombed a test? I remember the first test I bombed. Of course, that was before I realized that none of that stuff mattered that much!

what doesn't matter?

I thought I needed to know every little detil of minutia for interviews.

Well, for you New Yorkers, it does matter. But for us DMU'ers that are already super-geniuses, it doesn't matter much

But seriously, any program that is THAT stuck on grades probably isn't worth much. I'm not advocating poor grades because, for the most part, that does say something about an individual. A good student will work hard and should do fairly well. Assuming you have fairly good grades, it doesn't really matter much. Strong programs are more worried about three things:

1) Are you someone that they can get along with for 3 years (personality)
2) work ethic
3) Are you teachable

Having said that, grades don't mean a whole lot to many programs because some schools give A's out like candy! I recently spoke to a good friend of mine in residency. He said that last year, a student applied from a certain school. He was #17 in his class and had a 4.0 😱

Now you are asking for it. Dont drive down the lane next time we play basketball.:meanie:

Fortunately I do not have poor grades. But I do not think they correlate with what I actually remember from some of the minutia classes.

I hope you are right about working well with peole b/c otherwise I am screwed.

Why b/c you bring sass w/ that @ss? Maybe you should start hugging everyone and they will think you are nice.😀

Those are both very effective also. But the low cut shirt may send the wrong message and say " This gal here is a NASCAR fan." Which will get you Jacksonville.

that is not a possibility. I think we have mutual feelings for each other😡

How about a short skirt then? maybe even fishnets?:meanie:

I've already got fish nets and a short skirt so I don't want people to think I am copying you. Maybe you could check my rotations and she if we are at different programs before we both wear the same outfit.

Its too bad the broadlawns 4th year externs decided to take a week off this week to study for interviews. The residents are all on off-site rotations so we (the third years) have been able to scrub into some awesome surgeries. 😀

Yeah last month wasn't too bad either. An ankle fracture and an open amputation in the same week last week. I wish I was still on rotation at broadlawns, it was awesome.
