DMU self-proclaimed super-geniuses of the third row

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Today we had the "3 Big macs and 2 shakes" lecture. I also counted 152 "ok's". Metabolism is a fun subject!

Also you got to love his unique choice clothing he wears to class! I wish I could pull off a green shirt with an orange tie. Oh well, back to studying second messengers.

Biochem exam#1 - it's game time! I am guessing this is what some of the DOs are doing right now :barf: HAHA (That barfing smiley gets me every time!)

Don't worry, it doesn't stop there. The "ok's" never stop and he used the "3 big macs and two shakes" line to us in cardio/resp just last week.

has anyone ever showed up to class eating 3 big macs and 2 shakes? I think that would be hilarious.

I don't think anyone could get that much food down. At least not that much McDonalds.:scared:

Wait till you have Dr. Spreadberry for nutrition. He is a health nut and does not unerstand why anyone would eat anything that contains fat. He brings a 20 year old large cup of McDonalds fries to demonstrate the fatty foods that we eat. I think that someone in Jonwill's year was going to take a monster burger to class and eat it in the front row during Spreadburys lecture. That would have been funny. Hes a cool guy though. Good luck with biochem

Yea, I was going to bring that triple thick burger from Hardee's and my buddy was going to bring that Burger King breakfast sandwich that is like 800 calories  In the end, we bagged the idea because even though the guy is healthy, it may have very well caused him to stroke out.

Have you guys ever counted the number of "oks" he says in lecture? I counted 152 one day last week!

First day of anatomy, now the real fun begins! Time management is going be key. I will also be using DVR a lot more now.

Just had our first anatomy lab this past week. New labs = SWEET!!! No more getting Netter's and the disec manual dirty when they are projected through 30 some inch LCD displays at each table. Now if only that made the learning the stuff easier...hmmm

True.

Can't wait for Lower Limb after Christmas break. It will be great to experience the new labs first hand.

I wouldn't trade places.

Ah...why not. 😀 You mean you don't want to go back to a time when you were only in the classroom. You mean you like being out on rotation?

I forgot about this thread. I just found it again today and had to laugh. Here at Azpod, our class has taken the entire third row  I guess there is something mystical about it, and it must be true; genuises are drawn to the third row at DMU and Azpod

The first rule about the third row is you don't talk about the third row.

I also just had my first GSW and removed the bullet myself.

Are those of us in the 5th row not as special? 😛

Thats amazing I was begining to think Jon W was sleeping at the hospital to get all of the gunshot trauma. Nice to know the students get some hands on up there. By the way what did you think of Oakwood?

Oakwood is next month. Are you planning on visiting as well?

I hope to stop by at some point during my four months at DMC. I have heard good things about the program since being out. Sounds like they get a fair amount of trauma as well. What did you think of Albuquerque? Sounds like they have a pretty good program.

Despite it being JonWill's hometown, its pretty good. Who would have thought from a place that produced JonW? They get some good trauma and do a fair amount of rearfoot/ankle. I saw exfixes, pilons and they also do ankle implants although I never scrubbed one while I was there. Not as many cases as DMC though, not many programs are.

I'm third row, 1st on isle. I'm hungry for a Big Mac right now.

JONWILL........Rex Grossman is the worst QB in the NFL. I am going to have a heart attack if he continues to do this to my Bears.

Yea, pretty depressing. My personal favorite is the way he self-destructs when they get behind. I loved that lob pass to Muhammad with three defenders around him! Unfortunately, they want him to be their "franchise quarterback" so bad, I'm sure they'll be willing to overlook last night. The true shame is that, with their receiver core, their passing offense should be the best in the league. I also hope that Vasher, Brown, and Briggs are all OK.

Just had our first anatomy test last friday. There were 86 cadaver questions and 86 lecture questions! I think I might need to put a little more time into lab, but not too bad over all! I wonder if other schools have that many cadaver questions? Well, I guess back to studying biochem.

Now what do you do when Rex is out as the starter, and Brian Griese comes in and throws three picks....ouch!

Hopefully, he'll settle down. He looked OK besides the interception issue. A lot of dropped passes. But if I know my team, they're already looking at next years draft to find their "franchise quarterback!":laugh::laugh:

Well if this season continues like it is...they should get a pretty high pick. :meanie: I don't think Tim Tebow is available yet.

Gotta love Mueller- He brought up the Shakes and Fries today because 1st years finished Biochem.

After Biochem was over, I wasn't thinking about inducing a nap with 3 Big Macs and 2 shakes....I was thinking more like "Let's hit up El Bait Shop!" (or whatever establishment you fancy) :hardy:

Johnny's downtown. Awesome place to booze.

So does anyone know what happend to Dr. Feelgood? Did he and haffadoc both decide to stick it to the man and go on strike from posting anymore on SDN? Any help from the supergeniuses would be appreciated.

P.S. I think we get should the team from "Without a Trace" to solve this one. They always seem to figure things out at the last second.

While during my tour of DMU, we stopped in the big lecture hall (newest with the awesome chairs). I laughed when I saw the 3rd row. 😀

Was it glowing with a beakon of light shining on it from the heavens all while listening to soft angelic voices praising the row? Thats how it is for me evertime I set foot in that room.
