In some schools, I see they require GenBio 2 but my college does not offer that class. Is that a requirement that I have to fulfill even if I will have a BA degree in Chem? Would that be the same for other requirements by some schools like Genetics or Biochem?

Most likely yes. Some schools will waiver classes if you have a degree, but I have never seen any they will waiver science classes, especially not something as core as Gen Bio.

Contact the schools you are interested in to see what specific courses you can take at your college to meet the general Bio2 requirements.

General Biology is one of the core biology classes, I highly doubt any school NOT having it. However, it might be called something similar but different, such as Fundamental Biology, Introduction to Biology, etc.. Look closely at your school's course catalog.

My school has the first one but not the second. Only a few Pharm. schools require the second part.

I think ultimately you need to take a years worth of biology. I don't see how any school does it in a semester. You would have to take the next course in sequence.

Well, no. You take whatever prerequisites are for the schools you want to apply. Otherwise, you limit your options. For example, I couldn't apply to OSU because it required anatomy at a 4 year university. I did take it at a CC, but since I didn't fulfill the prerequisite; I would've wasted money to bother trying. Research the schools you will apply to. A general rule of thumb is that core classes are 1 year each (gchem, ochem, bio, physics) plus one of the specialized courses (biochem, molec cell, anatomy, physiology, the non-sciences).

Some of the common prerequisites that either my school does not have are Human Anatomy/Physioloy II and General Biology II. Do those courses get exempt if my school does not have them?

Also, if I will complete a BA degree by the time I apply, will I be exempt from completing non-math/science prereqs like Economics or Psychology?

As far as the non-math/science prereqs go, this will be a school by school policy and it is not universal.

Same goes for the Biology II requirement (school by school). From what I've seen, many schools will accept a Botany & Zoology course sequence as replacements for Biology I&II. My school doesn't offer Biology I (for science majors, anyway).

For the most part, there are no exemptions for the school you attend. You have to go to multiple schools to compensate for what your school lacks. Prerequisites were not written to be exempted. Some schools have certain policies for bachelor holders, but for the most part this is not so.

Some schools waive certain courses (usually liberal arts/elective ones) for applicants with Bachelor's degrees, but I believe most do require a year of General Biology regardless of degree-holding status.

However, I remember coming across a school or two (wish I remembered which one(s)...) specifying that they accept certain courses like Zoology towards fulfillment of the requirement, as long as you will have completed a year of Biology.

I'd definitely check with the schools and find out, as it's the only way to know for sure.

If you do end up having to take Gen Bio though, it should be fine to do it at another college that offers it. Pharm schools are aware and understanding of the fact that not all schools offer the same courses.

Absolutely yes.

Check with community colleges around your area that may offer the courses.

So I got into a pharmacy school. Now I want to drop the courses that are not part of thats school pre-reqs. Do they expect you to finish what you put on your academic update? If I did drop the classes, it would not show up on my transcript at all. Anyone know what schools usually say to that? I would call, but I would hate to leave a crappy impression about myself before I actually get there.

Unless you state your name, I don't think they would know who you are. I think most universities assign a "W" to withdrawn courses after their designated add/drop periods, so it still might show up on your transcript. Calling the school might be best.

Your course title should say it all. It should be public speaking, a speech or communications course whose syllabus is all about speaking to a large audience. Micro or macroeconocs and psych intro courses are what they are looking for. Search your school of choice's pharmacy admissionswebsite for specifics.

That's inefficient. Look at each website and look for the prerequisites. Use you best judgement and determine the course equivalents. All schools want the introductory courses for non science and complete sequences of the sciences with labs.
