Do schools receive Aug MCAT scores in late Sept?

In Emory's "Payment received" automatic email, they say

"Please note that if you have August MCAT scores to report, those scores will be sent to us from AMCAS in late September".

So, the schools know the scores before applicants do in mid-Oct?

I don't think that's so.
 
Maybe that's a typo and they meant to put "October."

Or maybe the schools get the multiple choice results way before we do? Maybe that's why they say the writing sample doesn't matter very much: Schools make decisions based on the other sections before the writing sample is even graded and released?
