Dresscode for dental school?
that's awesome! i really hope i go to a school that mostly requires scrubs. way easier super comfy. IMO looks good/professional/how healthcare personnel should lookDepends on the school. My school required business casual or mandatory school selected, color-coded scrubs with your name embroidered on them.
I personally like the look of business casual with a white lab coat over it. It's definitely more formal, but just a personal preference. As long as your comfortable and your patients are able to realize you're the doctor, that's all that really matters.
oh when you have ur own practice or work? yesss i a totally agree with that! and its nice cause after you're done you can just put your suit jacket or a blazer on and you can basically go out anywhere and look formal. but there's no way I'd wear that to school everyday! I wanna be comfy if i gotta sit in lecture for half a day and then be in lab for a while.I personally like the look of business casual with a white lab coat over it. at school? if you want to only wear scrubs, I'd get 4-5 pairs so that you have clean ones every. depending on the schools you can maybe get slightly different desings/colors. that would be nice!If business casual and scrubs were the only options, would wearing scrubs every day come off as sloppy?
yea. If we have a scrub school color I guess I'll be wearing the same color every day too lmaoat school? if you want to only wear scrubs, I'd get 4-5 pairs so that you have clean ones every. depending on the schools you can maybe get slightly different desings/colors. that would be nice!

I do fondly remember when we dressed up all the time for school. Nothing wrong with that.
We would have some guys or girls going all out. New styles, new clothes, dressing dapper all day long.
I wore the same outfit, 5 pairs of black pants, 5 shirts, with 2-3 ties. I would wear this for 4 years, and I still wear them 3 years later, and I look professional as ever.
I laugh because some of these guys going all out and spending big bucks on clothes are eyeballs up in debt. It is the true definition of what a millennial is now-a-days. Dressing nice but zero $$$ to the game. Pretending you got bank and pretending you are successful when you are broke as hell. You haven't made it until you have positive cash flow in the bank. I still haven't made it yet, and I still wear the same clothes from dental school.
Moral of the story: keep it simple and please don't use your loan money to get a new outfit or 50$ tie every week.

Wow - Y'all need to chill. All the information you need will be provided to you during orientation. And for those of you who are pre-purchasing scrubs, you may find out that you can't wear them. My school requires us to have scrubs that are embroidered/have unique shades that you can't just buy on Amazon easily. Patients aren't going to take you less seriously because you are/are not wearing a white coat or scrubs. You're not treating the well-to-do, but indignant patients on Medicaid or those without insurance who can't afford a regular dentist.
First year, people wore whatever they want (sweats were fine) and from then-on, it's scrubs 100%. No professor will care what you wear to a microbio class and even if they disapprove, it's not like they're going to fail you just because you wear yoga pants or something. Everyone wears scrubs: predocs, residents, facility, etc. I agree with the above, save your loan money. It's not free and it needs to be paid back, post-tax, with interest.
Relax. Enjoy your last few weeks of freedom. Soon, you're going to realize that it doesn't matter what you wear, what matters is how you treat people and how your perform.

When you're elbow deep in exams, you're not going to find the time to coordinate fashion. If allowed, you'll wear jeans, sweats, scrubs, or whatever is comfortable.
Also, you're going to be spending alot of time in the lab. Yes, wearing a nice shirt and tie with a lab coat looks professional, but you're not going to want to wear that when pouring stone and trimming diagnostic casts in the lab.
The fashion show will end quickly in dental school. Even the people who "dress really nicely," you'll find that you will see that outfit on Them quite often.
It's not that serious. No one cares.
