Drexel decision time

Has anyone heard from Drexel without their "View Interview Appointment" link disappearing? Accept/Reject/Waitlist. Or does it seem to be a requisite before hearing?

Where would you find this button if and when you get an interview? I'm just tired of looking everywhere for it on multiple pages.

After you click on View Status on the "My Application" website you have to sign in again and it will be on the following screen near the top

did anyone's "view interview appointment" link disappear preceding a waitlist or rejection notification?

Yes. I at least have heard that it dissappears preceding a waitlist and acceptance. No idea about rejection but I would guess that it would be the same for that as well. Then again, the whole link dissappearing thing may just be a huge coincidence. I only speculate that it dissappears shortly before a decision gets sent out. (although this idea seems to have held up so far). Mine came about 15 days after the link dissappearing.

I called to update my address and my file is still under review, and my link is still there. SO maybe there is some credence to your hypothesis Haemulon. We will see if it goes away this weekend or not

I hope so tandski! I am definitely pulling for you.

should i call them and ask whether a decision has been sent out?....i'm getting increasingly nervous as the week goes by

I just received an email back saying that I should be receiving a letter shortly. I'm guessing I should hear back at the end of the week since I believe that is when they send out letters.

I just got my acceptance yesterday - that makes 7 weeks post interview.

Are they still interviewing people? When was the most recent invite?

I interviewed the first week of November, havent heard a peep yet.

I emailed them last week (11 weeks after my interview) and they said a final decision hasnt been made yet. And for the record, I still have the link to "view interview appointment".🙁

yes they are still interviewing people as far as i know. i got my interview invite 1/3, and i scheduled for the earliest date (1/11), but they had A LOT of available slots all the way up until the end of january...

i'm sure they'll be interviewing into feb/march too?

I received an acceptance letter today from Drexel! I am so thankful to God. It took 11 weeks. It's my first acceptance. I called all my family members, and still can't believe it.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting on a decision and those that are on the waitlist. I really hope good news is around the corner for you guys.

:luck:

Thanks awesome cakebaker2, now have your mom bake you 2 cakes😉 . Congratulations. When is the letter dated? I called recently and they said that a decision was made on my file last Thursday, my letter was sent out yesterday, and that I should be getting it this week or early next week. Also what's your stats if you mind me asking?

i just got my acceptance yesterday too. I interviewed in late november....don't remember exactly when. I am so freakin excited....this is my first acceptance too!

Great job!!!!! It is a friggin amazing feeling knowing that all of your hard work has finally paid off. Definitely cause for celebration.

And Dhinaabi, good luck buddy. I know how it feels to be so anxiously waiting. Its only a matter of days!

Thanks everybody. Yes, maybe we will be classmates Haemulon and bobtheturtle. This morning I was at my volunteer job at the hospital and all the tasks of emptying the soiled linen bins, re-stocking gloves, getting water for patients didn't seem as menial knowing that I'll be able to treat patients soon.

My letter was dated 1/17 and my stats are 29P/3.6. Good luck to you dhinaabi and shadoctor, and to everyone who is waiting. Porcelain16, I really hope you get accepted off the waitlist (I was there with you on interview day).

congrats too all u who got accepted.

i interviewed at drexel on 1/11.... when do u think i'll hear? feb? march? april?

I interviewed at the end of November, 8 weeks later and I got accepted! I will be there next year! Congrats everyone.🙂

And I'm in. Congrats to everyone. Don't worry if it takes a little extra time because it doesn't necessarily mean bad news.

Congratulations! How long does it take to find out? I interviewed there 1/9. Thanks.

hey..i called the drexel office today and they said they mailed my decision letter last friday (01/19). i still haven't received it for some reason...hopefully tomorrow, and hopefully good news

The link wont go away!!! I am not normally this impatient, I just would really like to know before my interview next week. Haemulon, now that Drexel loves you and you are accepted call them and tell them to hurry up and accept me also!

I am so sorry that your having to wait longer. Sucks big time. I suspect that it sucks all the more so knowing that someone else from your day has already heard from them. I feel for you buddy.

If it makes you feel any better:

1.) How long it takes to render a decision is not a reflection upon your chances at acceptance. People have received an acceptance even after 11 weeks.

2.) To my knowledge, relatively few applicants have waited longer than 8 weeks for a decision to be rendered, so chances are that your decision will be made by next thursday, if it hasn't already been made (with additional time for processing and mailing of course). It can't take but so much longer right? The bulk of the wait is behind you.

I have a good feeling about this man. I think you will be celebrating on here before you know it!!!!! :luck: Get your money order ready 😉

My interview is not until Feb. 13th. So they are still interviewing just so everyone knows.

I got in! I got my acceptance letter 8 weeks to the day after my interview. I loved Drexel and am really happy about this. Good luck to those of you still waiting!

For those with recent acceptances, how are you making the decision about IFM vs. PIL? Mostly gut feeling? And does Drexel have a 2nd look weekend?

For those with acceptance at Drexel, who interviewed you? 1/ male or female? 2/ student and staff, assistant dean, dean, vs. MD? I wonder whether there is a correlation. Thanks.

1 faculty member (MD), and a 'student interview' (which was at lunch - not a great idea). It was the worst interview i ever had, in that it lasted all of 15-20 minutes tops, I could barely understand the interviewer, who, either had no facial expressions, or hid them well under his HUGE beard:laugh: . Anyway, just goes to show you how hard to judge those things can be.

Powers, I marked IFM on the forms they sent out. Mainly because I wasn't feeling a huge draw to the PIL program, and I know they have limited spots for it, so I let people who really wanted it fight for 'em. I'm used to the traditional lecture-style classes, and I already know I'm good at them; less unknown, less risk of getting there and finding out it doesn't work for me.

I had a female 1st year student for the lunch interview, and a male faculty member (physician currently doing more administrative work). The student was very friendly, though I agree with lunch interviews being an awkward concept. You can't exactly scarf down a sandwich while trying to be thoughtful and well-spoken. The faculty interviewer was very to-the-point on his questioning. It was a little intimidating because he gave no signs of interest one way or the other - deadpan expression the whole time - but at least not antagonistic. The bad part is that when I get no feedback, I just keep rambling... and rambling... and rambling...

for those of you who got accepted...did you find out about the decision online through the status page or did you receive a letter through snail mail?

It was almost exactly a month from interview to acceptance for me (Dec. 12 --> Jan 10). They STILL haven't updated the "decision" page, but I got a letter last week.

I have high hopes for you! This is such a grueling process. Perhaps what is going on is that you are still "rolling" and on the table, just not accepted yet. In any case, I am wishing you good luck.:luck:

Just posting on my Drexel decision time experience.

This Thursday will mark 11 weeks since my interview and according to the Office of Admissions, no decision has been made on my application as of yet. A friend of mine interviewed a few days after and he is in the same situation. No thorough mass mailing then and perhaps waiting for a decision for longer than 8 weeks isn't as uncommon as we would like to think (or wish).

Yeah they're office is ridiculously unorganized (and they lie!). I called multiple times about 5-6 weeks after my interview and the lady, after putting me on hold for 10 minutes at a time literally, always came back and said "No decision has been made yet." Approximately 2 days later I got the waitlist letter in the mail.

A person who interviewed on the SAME day as me received her waitlist letter 6 weeks after me.

Not good to hear. Why do you think they make decisions on some people so early and others much later?

Hopefully, a short turn around time is good. I called last monday and they said my decision had been decided on the previous Friday and that I should have a reply sometime this week. The interview appointment link also disappeared on that Friday, which is in line with Haemulon's theory. Anyway, I'm sure this week will drag by in anticipation for the letter. BTW, I interviewed on December 14th (I think).

I will be applying to Drexel this comming summer and was hoping to find out about your stats and etc. It would really help me out. I heard Drexel doesn't have that cpu reject standard (a drexel med rep came to my school and said that). I really like the pbl at the school and it is my top choice (tied with jeff). Thanks.

Why do birds suddenly appear everytime some come near? 😛

Don't try to introduce logic into this whole system - that will just end up causing more frustration in the end. Just grin and bear it as you can.

they said my decision letter was mailed on 01/19...still haven't received it!!!! i'm gonna call them today and see what happens

Anyone gotten an interview invite lately from Drexel?

i just got my admission letter from drexel!!!!!! (i'm still in school which sucks big time) but i'm soooooooooooooooo happy 🙂
it's my first admission letter
i want to thank all of you for your help and support!!!👍
