has anyone recently had a post-interview response from that school yet? anyone? my interview was in OCTOBER and i finally gave up, about a month or so ago, on calling them every 2 weeks. i'm just asking out of curiosity. if you haven't heard from them, does that automatically equal waitlist status? cuz i'm waiting...

not that i care, but i do, but i don't, but i do, but i don't...

wow that's absolutely crazy. what do they tell you when you call? sounds like something got lost in the mail - I can't imagine it taking that long.

Drexel usually sends out decisions 4-6 weeks after interview and they do send out "wait list" notices and dont make you assume that no letter = waitlist. I would call and politely explain the situation. Their admissions office has always seemed nice to me when I have called them. My guess is that something got lost in the mail or they had a problem with your interviewer getting some forms back to them, either way, they should tell you more information about your situation. Good luck

have you talked to the dean of admissions yet? I also interviewed in October and have yet to hear, although I've found out why by talking to Dr. Hanau. You may be able to get some answers from her.

honestly, there really is no reason why a school has not gotten a decision to you after interviewing in October...thats ridiculous

up until mid-march i had been calling the adcom office every 2 weeks, to the point that she even remembered who i was! for a long time the response was that they were missing some information from my file (info that i didn't need to provide, they had it but it wasn't all together), and then finally in march, they finally had my file under review -- for several weeks. when i found out i got in elsewhere, i gave up. i just figured i want to go to a school that wants me back just as much... but now i'm just curious.

drexel is notorious for having a ****ty reponse time, but i didn't think it would be this bad.

Your last line is certainly true, red dot. 👎

I interviewed at Drexel in late January, and I finally got a waitlist letter April 22. This school is pretty frustrating to work with. It's no coincidence that Drexel rhymes with break skull. +pissed+

I interviewed at Drexel in late Feb. and am still waiting to hear back. I called them yesterday and the lady on the other end told me that my file was awaiting a final decision and that I would hopefully be hearing from them within a week... they said the same thing when I called last week.

i think this technically belongs in the "drexel rejection thread" but I finally received my waitlist letter....7 months after my interview. Also, it took exactly 1 week from when i was told it was mailed for the letter to reach my house in MA. i guess they are just slow on all fronts.

I also interviewed awhile ago (back in January) and haven't heard anything yet. I called the admissions office and a recording said the email if we had any questions about application status. Does anyone have the number to speak directly to someone in admissions????

Thanks so much and good luck to everyone! :luck:

If you want to speak with someone in admissions, just choose one of the other options, or stay on the line and don't push anything.

...and don't bother sending an e-mail to the admissions office. Being true to the Drexelian form, they won't get back to you. 👎

u could always email dr hanau or lisa cifelli, both of them have always been good about responding 2 email though it might take a couple of days but i'm sure if u're in that category of having had an interview months ago (>2-3 months ago) and still haven't heard and r wondering if one of ur evaluators didn't turn in their evals, explaining over email might work. the phone number of the admissions office (from when we set up an interview) is 215-991-8203, i guess u could try that as well. [email protected] or [email protected]

don't hate me...

i came home tonight to find a big envelope. i'm in as of 14 minutes ago! after 7 months of no response, i'm in? cool!

Congratulations to you Red Dot from me as well!!! Are you going to be attending there seeing as you already have other acceptances? Just curious...

aww thanks you guys 🙂 i'm still pretty sure i'm going to rush though. i just wanted a response from that school is all. the only thing really holding me back about this is that i get to keep my dog if i go to drexel. but then again i might know someone who'll take him. i'll send in all the info today and see what fin aid they'll give me. i doubt it'll be radically different from my other one. so, to answer your question: on a scale of 0 to 10 with 0 being "no" and 10 being "yes" i would say i'm pretty much averaging at a 3.

anyone hear from drexel post-interview lately? i interviewed about 5 weeks ago....and time is running out.

I just withdrew from Drexel. Hope my seat goes to one of you 🙂 :luck:

i know that some of us who interviewed at the end of march still haven't heard but i know that my file is out 4 review so i'm assuming that march interviewees should hear by end of may if that helps.

I just called Drexel today and was told that my file is out to the committee for a 'final decision' and I interviewed in late Feb...

Anybody know if Drexel will tell you where you are on their waitlist?

I interviewed March 18, I heard two weeks ago that I was put on the waitlist... I dunno why people in feb haven't heard, seems like drexel adcom is falling way behind!

i think it depends on if all ur interviewers turn in their evals of u when they're reviewing ur file whether they can make a decision. there must be someone interviewing who routinely doesn't turn their eval in in a timely manner cuz i've heard others complain b4 about long waits 4 decisions and i guess it sux if any of u were un4tunate enough 2 have an interviewer like this. but my personal experience with the school has been pretty positive. sorry 2 hear about those folks who had 2 wait more than 2 months 2 hear back. i kept in touch with my interviewers so i know that my student interviewer turned the eval in on the same day and i don't know 4 sure about the faculty interviewer but i get the feeling that she already did as well from her emails.

i guess if u're interested in finding out if their WL is ranked, best thing 2 do is call. i know that they have ALOT of WL movement (esp in july according 2 a prof i know there).

Wait... so you kept in touch with your interviewer? I got the impression from all the schools I interviewed at that besides sending your interviewer a thank you note applicants aren't generally supposed to contact their interviewers. One interviewer even went so far as to tell me specifically that they did not want to be contacted more than just for a thank you. I didn't realize that at Drexel you could keep in contact with your interviewer. Might be too late now since my file is up for a final decision, but I wanted to know, how often did you exchanged emails with your interviewer after your interview?

well, i emailed a couple of times with my tour guide and student interviewer. more on friendly terms 2 ask questions. the tour guide answered some q's and told me 2 email if i had any more. the student interviewer emailed me about this great wilderness med program he had just done and thought i'd b interested so he sent me the info. we email back and forth occasionally cuz he empathizes with my situation (low UG GPA, higher MCAT) cuz he had been in the same situation and had 2 apply 3x b4 getting into drexel.

with my faculty interviewer, it was a different situation cuz she's a practicing doc and came late to the interview from the hospital. i also only got about 1.5 questions b4 she had 2 go 2 another appointment. she was really busy cuz she had 2 take a phone call during the interview as well so she felt really badly that we didn't have much time and that i didn't get 2 ask all my q's so she gave me her business card and wrote down her email address. we only emailed twice. once she responded 2 some of my q's and the 2nd time i had updated her on some recent achievements and she wrote me that she 4warded my stuff on 2 the admissions office and wished me good luck.

i think it just depends on the personality of the interviewer and that there is no set rule about it. i called 2day and apparently a decision has been made on my file so i should hear sometime middle to end of next week (so sometime AFTER may 15) cuz they haven't sent out a letter yet. so nervous... and the guy on the phone didn't sound encouraging...i'm hoping 4 not another WL. good luck 2 u!

🙁 well i just received my rejection letter today. i'm very upset...i never expected this. my interview went really well and i thought i'd most likely be waitlisted or possibly accepted. i don't know what happened.

You are really hellish. Is it really that difficult to type "to" instead of "2?" Come on now - let's get with the damn program.

Does anyone know if Drexel is still interviewing?

dude, i was trying 2 b nice and commiserate with a fellow applicant. take a chill pill, the note was meant 4 peace84 and any others who r in the same frustrating predicament. and if it really takes 2 many brain cells, just ignore my post. i know that i am not the only person who writes with lots of abbreviations and acronyms and there's no need that i have 2 b in the same "program" with u

I am sorry for your news as well peace84. I so hope you have other acceptances or waitlists and have a med school to attend next year. I am still waiting for a response from them after interviewing on March 15th and will be calling tomorrow to see whether a decision has been made. Apparently my file has been complete for like 2-3 weeks now yet my file keeps getting "passed over." I have no acceptances yet, so I'm hoping to atleast get into one school...but I'm getting a bit worried after hearing how some these people with good interviews getting rejected.

well i have one osteopathic acceptance and i'm waitlisted at my top choice allopathic school. i interviewed pretty late...the first week of april...i think maybe that's why i got rejected. anyway hopefully you'll hear soon...good luck

withdrawing -- one of you (assuming everyone is on sdn, which i know isn't) on WL are IN!!! yay! you can thank me with beer and flattery. 😉

For those of you still waiting for a post interview letter, I called today and my application (interviewed 3/30) is currently before the admissions committee.

i guess 4/17 is got a long way to go

OMG, so I called Drexel today and after hearing that my file is in for review for the last 3 weeks, I thought it was finally going to be reviewed this week. This week, I hear the same thing again, on top of which, there is not adcom meeting next week (May 17) but apparently they are holding 2 meetings the week after that...which makes it at least 3 weeks till I receive a decision. Since this is significantly after May 15, I don't know it this is a good thing or a bad thing.

I mean...it is really late in the season now, however, by May 15th many more people will have dropped their acceptances too. I guess I am just trying to see some positive aspect of all this.

In summary, having interviewed March 15th, I will not hear back until end of May, which is a bit disappointing at this point...and this is even before a decision.

If you search for last years Drexel thread, you would find that this is normal. Drexel is approx. a month behind, so techinally its only mid April, that means that they will be accepting through mid June and the waitlist starts moving in July.

Thanks for opening a spot 👍 🙂 ...Bump

Hey all,

I'm dropping my Drexel acceptance, so there'll be one more spot open. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist!

where are you going instead?

I interviewed on April 4th...just wondering if anybody has heard from Drexel yet. They sent me an email about 2-3 weeks ago saying my application was going up for review.

Thats all they seem to tell everyone...2-3 weeks. I interviewed 4/28, they emailed me saying my app will be under review within 2-3 weeks. Sure.

hmm. i did not get that email and my int was 4/17

i didn't get an email either but i interviewed in late march and when i called last week about sth else, they told me that they had already made a decision but hadn't generated a letter yet. that was wed/thurs but i haven't gotten any type of letter yet.

at least they said 2-3 weeks, they told us in march 6-8 weeks which is about right if i find out sth this week.
