Wanting to come back to this considering what a significant hint it seems to be.

I can read it two ways....familiar and trusted to Lupin the player, or familiar and trusted to Menolly the character?

@Zensing @killerleaf and anyone else familiar with the series....

Which characters in the series are close with Menolly? Which characters does she put her trust in?
 
From a cursory wiki check, I'm getting Jaxom and Piemur, anyone else?
 
Robinton is dead, is anyone aware of someone with one of the others (Jaxom, Piemur, Sebell) as their role?
 
And to cover both options, @Lupin21, who would you characterize, from the mods' perspective, as players you trusted in the days before your death?

Eh, I was talking to damn near everybody. And in the books, Menolly was pretty much friends with everyone as well. Not much help here.
 
If we are talking Lupin, and not Menolly, I think that she trusted (more or less) a number of players, myself among them. (I didn't off Loopy.)

The Abney angle is interesting. They were tight from back in Southern Hold, when they took turns with the tithe. If Abney offed Lupin and then brought her back as zombie Lupin, that would be kinda awesome.

My feels about that are less than my suspicions about FFM for today's lynch. Worth revisiting later, though.

Sandy and I were the alternators. Not abney since she was afraid her not having an ability would affect the tithe.
 
I dislike joining unanimous 'wagons like this, but we clearly won't find the answers to our questions by the time deadline comes around, and it's not like I have a better candidate to suggest at the moment either...I realize I've been waiting til late in the cycle for way too many lynch votes.

The holds were buzzing with the news of the loss of yet another dragon, and the return of one they had thought lost. Information was shared and uncovered, names were put forth and suspicions went around and around. Only one name stood out from the crowd, one that no one seemed to trust. And perhaps for good reason. FFM had spent his nights wreaking havoc ever since his ability was unlocked. Switching out targets and seeing what would ensue. He didn't care a whit about those lazy good for nothing dragonriders and their greed. In fact, he glorified at their downfall and was working to see if he could bring it about.

You have lynched FFM - Lord Meron, who could redirect a player's actions each night onto the target of his choice, and who was an agent of CHAOS.

It is now Night 9. Deadline is 10AM CST/11AM EST because sleep is good. 🙂

I felt good about it. And glad that my instinct about the chaotic nature of the ability wasn't entirely wrong.

If FFM hadn't redirected LIS onto me last night, I probably wouldn't have lynched him today. That was just a terrible move on FFMs part.

Well I had a theory but if you guys aren't linked in any way it kind of falls apart. Though I guess it would be sufficient for the wolves to think you were linked.
Anyway it boils down to the fact that PBC and VMH brought her up more than any other player, it read like they were truly trying to throw suspicion on her. But when the lynches didn't work out, I would have expected them to just kill her if they wanted her dead so bad. So why is she still alive?

Yes, good point. I am officially out of suspects now though. At least everyone else today spoke up and I didn't see anything that made my hairs stand up.

One of these injuries is accounted for by the night cancellation.
If our theory about missed tithes = number of players injured is correct (it has held true, mostly), then I see two options here.
1) Guis withdrew her tithe. This is...complicated though...because that means someone should have been injured in the first thread fall. If it was guis, then fine, she lied and said she wasn't injured. BUT she also sent me the healing item to use on n6, which doesn't make sense if she was injured herself.
2) Kam lied about her injury. I just find this highly unlikely. When I talk about a desperate wolf favoring fancy play, I don't mean downright insane play, and that's what this would require.

So perhaps here I have talked myself into this theory completely falling apart. I kind of wanted to cross reference with Ruatha. But again if we never missed a night besides the night cancellation, I just don't understand two of us being injured. :shrug:

I mean, yes, that's a possibility, but no, I didn't list it, because it's not helpful since it's not true.

I mean the whole me being bonked on the head and my need to figure that out (along with your good work) is what eventually led us to Gwen so.
 
FFS I provided one of the only actual arguments for VMH as well. And I spent a good portion of yesterday and all of today reading back over this whole damn thread trying to find something that we missed. But no, none of that is good enough for Kam. I'm kind of done defending myself at this point so if you really want so badly to lynch me then cast your vote tomorrow and keep it there. If you get enough support that I end up dead then clearly despite all my work I didn't do a good enough job this game.

God I get less grief when I spend all game lynching villagers.
 
Okay but seriously, what is up with the Ruatha thing?

DVMD and Promo both injured. Neither with a reason to lie.

RM, Promo, and STB tithed, one night missed. No reason for Promo or STB to lie. We're now sure RM isn't an original wolf or chaos, and N1 couldn't have been the convert. So he had no reason to lie.

One missing tithe, two injuries, and it's driving me up the wall that I can't figure out why.

The only thing I can think that would stop a tithe would be a block. LIS posted his block list, and any of the 3 of them who were blocked would have posted it.

Anything?

Promo, has your source gotten any additional riddles since the end of N4? Can you share them?

The holds were quiet as one man, if he could even be called that anymore after the loss of half his heart and soul, wandered dejectedly about. He was lost, broken-hearted, and seeking vengeance for his poor departed dragon. Finally, in a rage, he decided that he knew who had to be responsible. He didn't want to believe it, but couldn't reject the feelings he was getting. He went back and forth, back and forth, to challenge his primary suspect or to let him live. Finally, he decided his mind couldn't be trusted to make these decisions, and headed towards his bed. Overcome with grief and the pain of the loss of his dragon, F'lar did not see the knife until it was too late. With a quick stab to his chest, he was reunited with his beloved Mnementh.

Dead is Kam - F'lar, Weyrleader of Benden, Weyrmate of Lessa, and rider of bronze Mnementh, who each night could choose to kill someone (villager).

It is now Day 9. Deadline is 9pm cst/10pm est.

Darn. I'm not happy about that.

At least that puts the "riders convert upon death of dragon" theory to bed
 
I couldn't because I did yesterday, LIS hasn't wanted to all game as he has said plus it seemed better to not give up a chance to catch or clear someone with a block, guis couldn't because last night was an off night for her ability, Kam was afraid to. I pointed out that if dragons get tithes and dragons are not convertible it should have been fine but she was nervous about it so she didn't.
