Hah, this just reminded me of my interview day when we made badges. I think the secretary was just trying to entertain herself, because she got incredibly close to all of our faces with her camera and as a result we all looked really uncomfortable and weird. It was pretty funny.

Wonder how long it will take letters to get to Illinois. I really hope I get into Duke because I am strongly considering it just based on how personable the entire administration is. Good luck all!

yea my face looked huge because she got so close...its kinda funny though and I heard they use those photos for second look so it can be pretty embarrassing for those who get to go back

I wouldn't begin to worry. Very few people have received letters.
 
i think it's still a little early. a few people here in durham have heard, but interviews haven't concluded yet...
 
A friend of mine told me the duke premed adviser said march 16th...
 
Keep in mind, if they sent out 175 letters last year in March and they sent these letters while there were still 5 days of interviews remaining to be evaluated, they could have only sent about 100 in the first batch and 75 are still pending. So even if it takes a bit longer, I wouldn't get too worried.

If you said at any point during your interview, "I really don't think the curriculum is a great idea," then you should be worried.

I really hope I have a nice letter from Duke tomorrow. It would really make my day! well and my next 4 (years)!
 
Oh ya... btw, for all y'all who have gotten in or get in, feel free to PM me, any of the other Dukies on the thread, or I could even hook you up with people in the first year class who went to your undergrad (if we have any) in case you have any questions. We look forward to seeing y'all at 2nd look.

wow congrats! can't believe it has made it to the west coast already...not looking too good for some of us...let's keep our fingers crossed!

Congrats!!! Where are you located exactly on the west coast? I'm in cali but haven't heard anything. Just wondering if I should freak out now...:scared:
 
all my schools are holding, active consideration, waitlisting, or rejecting me. i do not know which school to send a letter of intent to. im really considering doing it for duke now. ugh!
 
how about we start making an acceptance list with undergrad, interview date and stats or something like that so everyone can get a idea of what is going on

Its not gonna solve anything but people are curious about where acceptees are coming from and interview date...it's not a big deal
 
i just had a dream that i ran into RW...he said all of the letters had been mailed out, and that I will be getting one, and then a follow up letter... Then he smiled. wonder what that means... I will keep you posted!
 
hey guys got the acceptance letter in the mail this morning in Texas. Interviewed mid-January. Pretty stoked! Good luck to everyone waiting!

NO. I'm from Maryland. I didn't interview with the Dean. But I did enjoy my interview...it was one of my most stress free interviews. I LOVE DUKE!!! Yay!

Btw, I hope you understand my JOY and excitement. Forgive me if I am too cheerful here...But if you haven't heard from them, my best wishes to you. I hope to see you at SecondLook. Keep praying and hoping to be in the RIGHT place.😍
 
Just got my letter this afternoon!!!! To the future Dr. clab1707! 😀 👍

I live in Illinois, interview 2/12, envelope was sent regular US mail...stamps and everything. Good luck to you all still waiting!

regular mail. Keep your hopes up buddy cuz 1) reg. mail (finicky delivery) 2) they are sending out a second batch next week.

The mail came today with a waitlist notification from Northwestern 🙁 ... and a big acceptance letter from Duke! 😍

me too. I'm really worried now...thinking back to my interview, I don't think I answered the questions very well 🙁

The only reason I'm glad I haven't heard from Duke is because it allowed for me to pull for my Heels tonight guilt free. Danny Green baby!
 
Helleluja, my mail came on a Sunday! Thank God for POBoxes. I'm in the SFBay area and interviewed in October.
 
When were your letters postmarked. My mail has a bad habit of being late... Usually takes 4 days regular mail. Please say postmark was Wednesday or later!
 
Congrats to all of you with acceptances! I've been trying to avoid this forum all week to protect my own ego, but it is great to hear that people have received good news. Good luck to the rest of us who are waiting. :luck:
 
I'm in the southeast. No mail today either. Should I expect a rejection/waitlist?

Nothing in the mailbox for me today...
 
What's the total received now, 8 or so? It's looking worse and worse each day, but I wouldn't get disappointed until about ~10 more people post with acceptances. Last year I think about ~20 or so posted with acceptances, and in the Columbia thread, something like 25 people posted with good news.
