I'm so nervous.
Called admissions office this afternoon and was told final decisions will be mailed between today and next Tuesday, the 11th. Didn't want to reveal just how neurotic I am by asking in what order waitlists, rejections, and acceptances would be mailed, or if they would be organized by interview date, alphabetically, or randomly.
Heh, I'll call back tomorrow from Skype and ask if others are interested.Hahaha. I almost wish you had asked them "in order by interview date, alphabetically, or randomly?" just for the reaction you'd get. Haha.

Those in the SE and NE may start hearing back from Duke as early as today or tomorrow... please post with any news!

I called yesterday and was told letters would be sent between yesterday (3/3) and next Tuesday (3/11). I've not gotten the nerve to ask if they're going out in order of interview date, alphabetically, or randomly OR if they are ordered by decision (R/W/A). I'd also be interested to know how they are shipping them (priority v. regular mail), but I would not want to ask such obsessive questions from my personal phone and have since decided to leave the office alone. If someone else wants to call and bother them with such questions and will post the news here, please be my guest. 😀Hey DulyNoted - is that what the admissions office told you when you called them via skype?

Last year it seems that letters went out Acceptances, Rejections, then Waitlists. Acceptances were dated 3/2 and received as early as 3/4. Rejections were postmarked 3/6 and received up to a week later. Waitlists followed those and I believe were postmarked 3/8.
Happy mailman-stalking!
Good luck to all of y'all!

Who wants to share coping mechanisms?
Haha, unlike some other forums I frequent, SDN does not automatically refresh itself after being idle for a certain period of time. Since I leave these threads open in a single Firefox window all day long, it sure would be nice if someone could implement that feature. 👍*refresh*
Doesn't firefox have an autorefresh timer you can use? Opera does.
Orrrr... you could drop in the admissions office and see what size envelopes are being stuffed/metered and let us know!Y'all are hilarious. You remind me of myself last year. I found it was better to change the subject of admissions on the forum so that you could still be on SDN and on the Duke thread, but you could be talking about something else until people starting getting acceptances.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I got the acceptance call from the director of admissions this morning cerca 9:30am. They said my acceptance letter had been mailed this morning (3/5/08). They also indicated there was lots of info within b/c of second look weekend. I never check this site so I'll probably never get on again, i just signed up to post this note so people can know what to expect. Good luck to the rest of you and hopefully i'll see you all during second look weekend. Oh, my interview was mid Feb.

Poster above, say what? Are you a MD/PhD or URM applicant?DukeMed website said:Your application is complete and is awaiting a final decision from the Committee on Admissions. All decisions for applicants who have interviewed for admission to the 2007 entering class are sent via the U.S. Postal Service and will be mailed from the Office of Admissions during the month of March 2007. To insure your privacy and to protect the integrity of the admission process, no decisions will be transmitted over the telephone or through e-mail at any time or under any circumstances. We appreciate your interest in the Duke University School of Medicine and wish you the best of luck!!
Something they found out last year is that if rejected you will find out by email. Only acceptances and waitlists arrive USPS.DukeMed said:If you are extended an interview at Duke and you are NOT accepted to Duke AFTER you have interviewed, you will be contacted by email via the email address housed in your DukeMed Personal Account (PAS). It is important, therefore, that you maintain an updated email account/address throughout the entire admission process. All other decisions (accepted or waitlisted applicants) will be notified in writing and the following institutional policy will apply:
"It is the policy of the Duke University School of Medicine that no decisions regarding acceptance to the Duke Medical School or invitation to accept a position on the waitlist shall be posted to the interactive web site. No decision posted to the web site at any time regarding an applicant's acceptance or waitlist status shall be considered "official" or "binding" at any time. Decisions regarding acceptance or waitlist status are official only when an applicant is in receipt of a signed letter written on official stationery of the Duke University School of Medicine Committee on Admissions and bearing the signatures of the Associate Dean and Director of Admissions and the Dean of the Duke University School of Medicine."
