I bet one of the AAMC people was reading SDN and figured it out.
I totally want that job. I wonder what it pays? Do the benefits include dental?
do they have a transcript form that needs to accompany requests? I already requested my transcripts.Print out that transcript sheet and get it to your registrar soon, before the post-graduation rush. The last thing you want is a transcript to slow your AMCAS verification.
Haha, knowing AAMC, I'd expect they'd BAN you from applying to medical school FOREVER because of that.
Ouch.

got that too. What is weird, though-- Jayme put a list of all the other emails of the applicants.. I wonder if that is against policy. Someone at Indiana, NYU, etc. That shouldn't be right. Now someone else knows my email and name.😡 😡

so reading through this thread, one advice that i would like to suggest is to call up amcas to make sure that your transcrpits are for the irght person and are complete .... the reason i say this is that this thread reminded me of something last year that i do not want anyone to go thru:
when AMCAS receives your transcripts, they'll send you an email ... don't assume (like i did) that this means that your transcripts are complete ... i waited in line for a whole month to be verified only to find out my school sent INCOMPLETE transcripts ... AMCAS pushed me to the back of the line, had to wait another month; and after searching through SDN, others had issues where their schools sent the WRONG PERSON'S TRANSCRIPTS ...
i don't want to be such a downer as i know many are excited to get started on the applcation cycle, but better safe than sorry ... so if your have a pretty popular name like John Smith or perhaps your school's offices a full of questionable individuals, best bet is to call up amcas and check ... the person on the other line may give you an attitude about how its the verification departments job to do this, but they can check the superficial stuff (like if the right person or any pages missing) ...
goodluck to all and have fun ....
I wonder if they alert the medical schools that you want to apply to!
Well, some people will have to wait for Spring grades anyway and at least at my school it takes a month for your grades to show up on your transcript.Print out that transcript sheet and get it to your registrar soon, before the post-graduation rush. yeah, that sucks. my school is actually holding them for my spring grades, so hopefully I can just get the form (tomorrow?) and drop it off at the academic records office before they get it sent out.Yes, there is a form needed as well as the AMCAS number. So if you did not include these with the request you will probably have to re-request them. If you can cancel the request now and have them resent with the form later I would do it.

we use the same AMCAS number as before, right? no need to request a new one if we're reapplying?
the AAMC website says nothing about requested a new number under the re-applicant page, so I would assume so.I believe so, but maybe someone else here is sure.
AMCAS is accepting transcripts now (on or around May 2).Since we're talking transcripts, can someone verify:
1) the transcripts can arrive to the AAMC before June 3rd, correct? They just won't start processing them till June 3rd.
2) it takes 2-3 weeks to verify the app, so if I'm sending several transcripts, I could have one arriving by, say, June 15th, and not have my app delayed...correct? I'm a bit under pressure here since I'm currently working on a course that should pull up my BCPM a lot (I took few science classes, so any grade really affects my BCPM) and while I'm seriously busting my balls to finish it by May 31st, it still means the transript won't be in till June 10th at the earliest.
Thanks
Depending on what university you attend, you may not need the transcript request sheet. For UT, the registrar's office said that they send it to AAMC electronically so you don't even need a form. I asked about AMCAS number etc. but the woman said she didn't need it.
Sooooo - we'll see
not really. you'll get plenty of chances to look practice forms before you do the real thing.hey guys. i'm a sophmore in high school, definitely pre-med (specifically rad/onc). do you think it's wise to fill out an AMCAS application just for practice? I really want to submit at 12:00:00 June 1 2012, so I don't want that being my first time filling out the application. i heard you should fill it out at least three times at the pace you want before doing the real thing.

Oh wow, that sounds comforting. If I get an A in this class (currently I'm about halfway through and it looks like a solid possibility), my BCPM will jump from 3.37 to 3.45, which seems worth a few days' delay....but now it seems like there won't even be a delay.👍If you have all your transcripts in by June 15th it will take FAR less than 2-3 weeks to verify. My first try I was already being verified 1 working day after all transcripts were in (granted they then told me I was missing one, but still). My second try was early July and I only waited 5 working days to get verified.
