I just read on the aamc site that they aren't allowed on test day. However, I also heard from two other sources in my Kaplan class that you just can't bring your own, and that they are supplied at the test site (which I doubt 😎 ). Based on the info posted on the website, I'd assume they aren't allowed nor supplied, but does anyone know the definite word on this?

thanks.

Yeah, not allowed. But i think if you get skin colored ones and jam them far enough in your ears you could get by. Probably not worth it though.

Ear plugs are more trouble then they're worth. The MCAT room is always dead quiet and I really find ear plugs uncomfortable!

They say they're real strict but MCAT testing sites vary. Mine let us have cans of coke and other non-water drinks which is a big no-no for most MCAT testing rooms!

Will is on the mark.

It really varies from site to site though. At my site, I had to keep everything in a bag in front of the class, and if I wanted water, I had to go OUTSIDE the room ONLY DURING BREAKS to drink it (I kept the water in my bag).

That being said, there is about a snowball's chance in hell anyone will let you use ear plugs in testing day ... 🙁

why? in case they have the answers encoded in them and osmotically transfer them to your brain during the exam?

I wondered too and eventually came to the conclusion that it would be too easy to disguise earphones as earplugs. You could have equations playing in your head or something.
