Hi all! It’s my first time applying as well. I believe they sent out application eligibility verification emails earlier this month and stated we should hear back by late August about invites in September. Good luck to everyone this cycle!

I heard mid to late August for interview notifications as well. And in a webinar earlier this year they shared a timeline that showed virtual interviews would occur September 6-13th.

For anyone applying to the LLS program in addition to the EIS program, my friend who applied received an interview invite yesterday. She was notified by email. We both have not heard back from the EIS program. Hopefully mid August we will know soon enough!

What is the LLS program?

The LLS program is a new program compared to the EIS program and is tailored more towards PhDs to continue epidemiology laboratory work with EIS officers. It is also a two year program with a month training session in Atlanta! CDC's Laboratory Leadership Service (LLS)

I am finishing up my PhD in immunology/infectious diseases. I saw a change in the portal from “New” to “initial review”. But that’s it. The anticipation is killing me. I hope we hear back tomorrow!

I don't know what any of it means, and a former EISO I asked said she's never seen those status updates before. I've read past EIS threads here and thought for sure we'd find something out by now based on patterns from the past few years. Hope we all find out soon.

We still have the rest of this week and next, based on posts from the past years it seems like the calls happen on Fridays and Mondays... Fingers crossed 🤞

I also interviewed and haven't heard back. Wondering if the storms/weather last week in Atlanta pushed back things. Waiting very impatiently lol. Last year I received an email rejection by 5pm on the last Friday of September

Unfortunately, I did not ask about the number of calls left. I received a call at 6:00 p.m. ET, so it would make sense for calls to continue tomorrow. My fingers are crossed for everyone!
