Just a question to those out there who are using electronic ears. I've got a few hundred left in residency "education" dollars and I'm thinking that I'd like to blow it on a new gadget. I know 3M and Thinklabs both have popular stethescopes and now that they have ambient noise reduction technology to (allegedly) block out the drunk guy screaming on the other side of the curtain I'm kind of interested.
Anybody have any thoughts or opinions???

I used one for a while but gave up on it because every patient I examined had crackles -- you can hear everything -- even a single alveolus opening.

For EM, this is too much.

Buy a good book - a better investment.
