EDL, you must have over 20 interviews now?? That's so crazy, best of luck to you dude! Quick question, how are you finding the interviews, what are the directors like that you are meeting and how are their views on the applicants so far?

Yeah...9 interviews so far is pretty much beyond anything I ever expected (that's why I applied to 40 schools!). Thanks for the support. Good luck to you as well!

I just started a new thread to address your question. :idea: Check it out. I think it's a great idea to keep track of stuff like that because I felt so lost when applying to a lot of these programs. No one seemed to know anything about some of these programs.
 
they interviewed today. had about 7 come thru. i think batch 2 is wednesday next. can't comment on whether or not additional applicants will be interviewed beyond batch 2
 
Thanks for the info. Surprised no one on here got the nod. I figured I only had a slight chance at best straight out of school.

I remember at our externship one of the docs told us Oregon was the only program he knew of that absolutely required experience--too bad because its probably the closest school to my hometown.

Got the email from Nebraska notifying me that I was not offered a position.

That was very efficient (only about 30 minutes after the last interview!)
 
Nebraska? Youre much better than them anyway Mr. Loco. Let me know when you get into UMKC or the other highly competitive schools!

are you going to Maryland on the 19th? I think there are only 8 people interviewing. An email was sent out by Saunders (most likely accidentally) with all of our emails on it...

Endogirl, what did you decide for 9/24: Baylor, Einstein, or Louisville? I know what I chose...🙂

ElDienteLoco and endoking, still no word from UMKC? Strange, I thought this was supposed to be wrapped up by Friday. I guess we'll have to keep our cellphones nearby for another week.

I turned down Baylor. I'm going to Einstein on the 24th and then flying to Louisville to interview on the 25th.

I interviewed in Iowa yesterday and I met someone who had to make that same choice and he chose Baylor...he thought he'd have a better chance in Texas (4 residents instead of only 2 in Phili).

Just as an FYI, someone else in Iowa whom had interviewed at UMKC, was still waiting just like you guys, so...there's still hope to get that call you are all waiting for!

I think quite a few of us on this thread will be meeting in Minnesota next week (Sept. 17/21). Looking forward to it. McClanahan sent some info and websites to check out re the city, endo handbook. Check your emails!

I set my interview at USC to this Wednesday. If I have internet access available, I'll let you know what they asked in the "Endo Interview" thread.

I hope someone... anyone... calls soon, because the suspense is killing me!
 
Looks like we'll meet in Philly then Endogirl. Too bad neither end would be flexible, both Baylor and Einstein are terrific programs and I would have liked to have a look at both.

I'm still holding out hope for UMKC though...🙄

Yeah, what's the story with KC? Do you think he accepted two people already and forgot about the rest of us?😕

I sure hope not. That program has a lot to offer. I'm still going to keep my phone on me 24/7 until I hear, that's for sure.

I'll see you on the 19th. I got that email too, but I think interviewing only 8 people for 3 spots seems unlikely. I figure they only sent that email to those interviewing in the morning. So, maybe they're interviewing 16 total. I hope i'm wrong though: 3 spots for 8 interviewees seems like really sweet odds!! 🙂

Hey Mesialman, welcome to the thread! We are posting our impressions about programs on the "Endo Interview Feedback 2007" thread. I just posted about Iowa...hope that answers your questions.

Regarding acceptances: they said it can take a while. The first calls will go out next week, but they can even call a month from now and they will give 2 weeks to decide after the offer is made.

I'm sure you guys probably got the same call, but I figured I would post it to dispell any doubt.

Dr. Kulild called yesterday to let me know that I didn't get a position there. That's too bad because I really liked it there.

Same here. That's a good program for sure, but there are others out there, that's for sure...😉

Dlux, I spoke with some other applicants at my Minn interview and one had an interview at OSU yesterday, so it sounds like they've offered at least some interviews. One of the applicants was from UIC and he told me that they wait until after October 1st to start offering interviews so that they're not scrambling for the same people as the other programs. Nothing real concrete, but its something. Oh yeah, I got the no from kc too.🙁
 
There is no doubt about the fact that Penn is a great program. Based on prior years, I think they interview 50 applicants for eight spots- good luck to all you guys who decide to interview there and hope to see some of you in PENN.🙂

I interviewed their as well. I haven't heard anything as of today so I guess that's a good sign. They said it may take some time. Endogirl interviewed there also and hasn't posted anything regarding acceptance / rejection. What day were you there?
 
Sorry I haven't been updating but:

University of Florida, email a few weeks ago. Oct 4th and 5th
Pitt, phone call, Oct 1st, 3rd, 10th, 12th. They do one person a day.
 
Chicago called on Thursday and have interviews on the 8th and 9th. They said 12 interviews for 6 places.

I met a guy at the Maryland interview who said he had received an Iowa acceptance. Don't expect the list to move too fast cause he said he had two weeks to decide.
 
I have accepted a position at the University of Maryland!

I am so stoked and feel that this program is a perfect fit for me (I never would have thought this to be the case before my interview there, but I am now thoroughly convinced).

Good luck to y'all (Sorry, I just got back from Texas...), it will all work out. There are a lot of interviews left. Seriously, best of luck!

I'm so excited that I get to start posting again without fear of reprisal...

UIC has already contacted people last week, but they obviously decided to make another round of calls yesterday!

Anybody else having a hard time with BU? I contacted them via email a while back, and received a response from somebody there about 3 weeks ago saying that they received my PASS application and they're working on sending an email so that i can pay the application fee. So far, I have received no such email. 😕
 
I interviewed at BU last Tuesday.

Did y'all (I'm still talking Texan) send in all the supplemental stuff (LORs w/ forms, Hard Copy of Transcripts, Board Scores, etc.)? I think I sent my fee with that stuff and I think there may have been a supplemental application too. Although some schools only require the PASS application and a fee, I think that BU wants hard copies of most of your stuff. Good luck.

I know that Dr. Hutter is going to be out of town for a couple of weeks, so I'm not sure exactly what their schedule is.
