That was my fear. That you all have already made contacts and I’m the late comer 🙁Too late in my case, I've already started one

This post scares me. It feels insincere that you’re now campaigning that not wanting it is a good sign when you were strongly pointing out how much scrutiny is on the role (i.e. how much more scary it can be for wolves than for villagers). Pre-emptively calling out your own sus-looking inconsistency and playing it off with a joke really makes me worry. Also, calling it humility could also be pockety.
samac wasn’t saying she doesn’t want the position, btw. She was saying she wants it less than she wants to make sure village does get a PM (trying to avoid unpredictable punishment for creating a tie). That does seem village to me, especially considering that her earlier campaigning was forceful and I’m convinced she sincerely wanted it.
If she were to suddenly flip from “put me in, coach!!! I’m ready!!!!” to “oh no just elect MsP instead 👉👈”, imo that would be a bad sign, so I don’t know why you apparently read “not wanting it” as village in this situation
I still have mine! I'd be willing to open one up once you've officially movedThat was my fear. That you all have already made contacts and I’m the late comer 🙁
I’m aware of what you said, and I don’t think it’s impossibly inconsistent for a villager or anything. But my bar for “this feels sus” is lower than “there’s no village explanation for this”, because basically nothing clears that second bar.See you dont know me. "elect whomever doesnt want to be elected" is my one and only approach to this sort of vote 90% of the time. I probably want it myself 5% of the time (this time included) and I have some compelling reason to specifically want someone another 5%. But generally? Give it to a person who doesnt want it. That works every single time unless I happen to want the role because then... like... do I twist myself into a pretzel and act demur and tell people i dont want it so theyll vote me anyway? Thats too complex even for me. If I want it - then I'm upfront that I do.
But I apparently was not in the runoff election so I'm not even a choice. and if I'm not a choice, then select the person who wants it the least BECAUSE they will be under heavy scrutiny and I want that job thrust upon them because of said scrutiny. This is something I *also* said in my very first post where I said I wanted it BECAUSE it would give me high scrutiny and I can get the target off my back early (cue: he must be a wolf who seers as a villager. blah blah. blah. Its not the case and you'll just have to trust me, I guess). So no inconsistency at all. Come on man, come with real critiques or dont come at all. And Samac saying shed prefer to lose than have a tie is just perfectly in line with my theory of "elect the unwilling"
If you're gonna criticize me, try to keep up with what I've said.

Uh oh, I just got back from watching a movie and this is not reassuringapparently today wasn't the best day to be busy around vote close....
Is it, though? Ties can end badly for both the people involved sometimes. I'm not sure that wanting to avoid the potential of 2 deaths is the same as being unwilling to be elected. And Samac saying shed prefer to lose than have a tie is just perfectly in line with my theory of "elect the unwilling"

Y'all are lucky you've never seen mayoral tie death. It's a mayor vote. Not a lynch. Cool your jets.

I think their votes count in yeet cycles so only mayoral will be skewed.Speaking of ties and votes in general. I have some worries on how this royals votes not counting thing is going to mess with VCA and yeet votes in general considering how tonight played out.

I’m a millennial. Yeet was the term by the time I got here and I’m cool with rolling with it.oh god. you youngin's.
what the **** is a 'yeet cycle' or a 'yeet vote'.
Friggen gen z (and yes, youre still gen z in my mind regardless of your actual age if you use yeet unironically)
It's just new terminology to get away from using lynch. You can also just say vote/unvote/vote cycleoh god. you youngin's.

DocE has said something like this in almost every game I've played with him. The comment is NAI imoThis post scares me. Yeah that too lolWelcome to the world of
**I typo'd that as DicE![]()
Not sure the wisdom of this reveal.Imma make this common knowledge it’s from my role PM:
I do get to break ties. And tomorrow I move to London.
All that hard work to get April to PM me destroyed.
On the bright side folks in London I’ll be there tomorrow and I love PMs? So folks in London...![]()
I mean it’s what I get to do, I knew everyone would be wondering and would prefer it be public knowledge. I’d rather be transparent thpeople think I’m hiding things. Not sure the wisdom of this reveal.
There is sometimes some village strategy in not broadcasting who you're PMing with. Makes it harder for wolves to NK to break up communication networks or control flow of info, or PR hunt.I still have mine! I'd be willing to open one up once you've officially moved
When was this?*flashbacks*
Yeah I kinda hate it tbh. Not just cuz yeet sounds dumb.So wait..... we are trying to move away from lynch? My SPF friends will not approve of this on their grumpy threads about PC police.
I will just use the term "unalive" instead.![]()
There was a song about some kinda animal being in London. Hmmm. Not sure I would move therePretty sure my move to London will be known tomorrow once it happens.
edit: grammar
Over-honesty is not necessarily a village thing. Maybe the wolves will want to eliminate a tie breaker, and you're likely to get confirmed town by some villagers, if you are town.I mean it’s what I get to do, I knew everyone would be wondering and would prefer it be public knowledge. I think ignoring the racial connotation is disingenuous. It doesn't do anybody any harm to use different terminology. And as has been said over and over again, if you don't want to use yeet, you don't have to.Yeah I kinda hate it tbh. Not just cuz yeet sounds dumb.
Lynch just means mob vigilante justice - execution by mob, typically without trial. It was also used on white women for centuries, it's not just a race crime. It does represent injustice. And it captures what it feels like to be misvoted perfectly imho. I mean, if I'm going to say there's any connection between real life violence and game violence. We haven't gone away from terms like assassin or serial killer either though.
I think it's good for village to know we don't have to fear ties unless we don't trust samac. A lot of players love ties for VCA, but panic over actually ending in tie causes eod confusion and weird vote switching (which wolves could use to disguise their real reasons for last-minute switching)Not sure the wisdom of this reveal.
Agree. I def don’t want to be yeet’d.Yeah I kinda hate it tbh. Not just cuz yeet sounds dumb.

Oof #toosoonMaybe we can use “megxit” instead
Mods can, that's fine. I don't think it's disingenuous in the slightest though.I think ignoring the racial connotation is disingenuous. It doesn't do anybody any harm to use different terminology. And as has been said over and over again, if you don't want to use yeet, you don't have to.
This doesn't need to turn into an SPF debate though. It was agreed upon by many members of the community to make a conscious effort to change terms. And in any case, mods can require whatever terminology they like.
That’s fine. You don’t have to believe I’m village, but rather than people going “oh my god what did she get” I’d rather it be honest and if wolves want to kill me because I can break a tie so be it I guess?Over-honesty is not necessarily a village thing. Maybe the wolves will want to eliminate a tie breaker, and you're likely to get confirmed town by some villagers, if you are town.
Just trying to decide if you're being helpful or "helpful."
I don't see how any of this makes using the term betterI think focusing on the racial aspect of lynch is basically ignoring all the other groups that have been unfairly targeted by lynch mobs, like for sexual orientation, religion, sexual assault victims, gender nonconformity, political associations, etc the list goes on and on.
To act like it's a term that only has racial connotations sorta erases the injustice visited on so many people and groups.
During the War for Independence many Brits and Colonists were tarred and feathered or suffered other types of clear mob violence or death by lynch. So not even completely tangential to this very game.
Do you have any hot takes from what people have said today? It’s alright. I think ppl just want to get back to breaking down ppls mo’s

Social justice dialogues are important and deserve to have a more open, voluntary forum than a game thread can provide. It's therefore better left to the sign up thread and/or the many other threads on this site dedicated to those topics.
Thanks.

Don't feel you, yourself, have to lay low. Being an active voice can help you learn faster and be able to solve most efficiently.(Only bc you asked)
DocE seems to be testing the waters some but I’m thinking just his personality at this point.
As a fellow procrastinator, I’m not sure I would ask for PM and extra duties unless there was ulterior motive 👀 MrsP
at this point I would think most wolves would be lying low with one or two trying to endear Themselves to village.
disclaimer: first game so trying to read the situation and learn/lay low
