We are a chatty noob bunch. I think we made Bioshock the longest game in history (though Lawpy was helpful with that)
So the goal today was to just keep up and contribute nothing?

I was surprised the mechanic stuck out to you enough in everything that’s been going on this game that a 2 post conversation between me and Zenge? (I think?) stuck out to you enough to read changing of the guard (which is a real spectacle people go watch) would ping you as a conversion. Just a weird leap.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Personally, I figured no one should really complain about this because when everyone was trying to sell me on long cycles one of the things they say that is it gives more people time to check in when they're busy for a lot of the day. So if they're cool with those people only being here for part of the cycle... it should be fine for me to do that too.

Sorry, you led the alissa D2 in ggoats, then she got yeeted D1 in Bioshock. It just stuck with me that Alissa seems to get yeeted early on a lot. I dont think its some pattern that is AI for you, but I had it in whats left of my notes and I left it. She's ok because I literally searched posts for user, skimmed the page of results and felt ok, but that is missing context of posts, and any responses people have to her. I really need to go back and ISO alley and Alissa, the A names plus cat pics just make them merge into one person in my brain, and I dont feel comfortable giving much of a read on them or moving them out of neutral when I'm forgetting who said what

Yes, anything on the tally with at least one vote on the board is a wagon and extremely relevant to VCA. So what are your thoughts there?

I had nothing to do with her D1 yeet in Bioshock so I don't understand why you're linking that together.

What do you mean by missing context of posts? I assumed since you mentioned me pushing her being weird that you've seen some of the debates we've had.

For the record I prefer 12-12 because I stay equally invested and 36-12 burns me out and I’m usually begging for death by the end.
but yeah, people like longer cycles but they also seem to like when we let them know that we’re at least around and working or something of the sort.

The candy/sick part is weird, though because the 'sick' makes me think wolf just because ... I dunno ... seems a negative effect and seems coercive.

Pippy has made me curious, though, and I went hunting... from a history of candy in England.

That’s also why I mentioned I felt it was weird to mention I ate them until I felt sick. I had no negative effects from the candy though.
I also may have went down a google rabbit hole trying to tie it to a character to see if it may be someone wolfy vs some other figure.
this googling did not get me as far as my Robinhood google.

Why would I let people know that I was around when I didn't want to engage? What would be the point in that?

I'm not working. I'm on vacation this week. I just don't want to be fully engaged in this game for 36 hours (minus sleep) per cycle. I didn't think that was worthy of an announcement. I'm only telling you now because you asked where I went.

Okay but if you see a difference in her play every game then I would argue you won't know when she's a wolf. Sure, eventually you'll probably be right and she'll flip wolf, but at that point it's not because you read her correctly.

She had a similar role in that game, I don't remember the specifics but she was able to add things to writeups. And she died n1.

I'm saying that I remember the gist of it, but because I haven't been keeping up with my notes I want to go and refresh my memory before I move her into a lean category/give a strong read on her. You've had other discussions on threads that have helped me want to lean you village, its just that your vote on her did remind me of GGoats. I'll try and run a thorough iso on her by the end of D2, and then hopefully on Alley so I can try and keep them straight from now on

I sure as hell do, but:

a) I sorta went with AM's comment about letting it play out; and therefore

b) Figured I'd see more as I'm catching up.

Hoping there is more to come on it.

I am a little surprised that so far Samac has thrown a lynch vote for AM when she also hearted your post about catching a wolf and then didn't seem to throw a vote that direction.

That seemed SUPER odd to me. Especially since her vote for AM seems purely based off of ... uh ... whatshername getting killed and leaving a yawn-worthy "lynch AM if I get killed because I'm suspicious of AM" message. One thing if it were a deliberate trap or something, but we've all done the whole "If I do, I bet so-n-so killed me" and it's usually wrong.

Okay. Sorry it was a weird leap. I don’t think it threw sus at anyone or implied anyone was wolf. Or would read wolfy on me. I don’t think it made others look bad. But let me know if you think it does implicate others in any way and if I need to defend it.

So I guess bad/poor contribution on my part? My bad.

I always took wagon as short for bandwagon. So a group of ppl jumping on to yeet someone and save their own who was on the verge of getting yeet’d.

I will try to figure out the counter and offwagon. These are new terms to me

It's just a word on its own. I'll just give you the quick definitions here since I already marinate in this stuff all day.

Bandwagon: A wagon gathering a large amount of votes unusually fast. (Doesn't just have to be near EOD.)

Counterwagon: The wagon(s) competing with another wagon for the most amount votes. For example, DocE was April's counterwagon yesterday and vice versa.

Offwagon: Voting outside of a wagon that many other people were on. Typically is a pretty small wagon but this isn't a hard and fast rule.

If you don’t want to look like you are lurking you could: try not to announce why and hope no one notices. Or announce why you aren’t posting. Especially if you have time to say it bc you are on vaca.

But not posting and not saying why could easily be construed as lurking

I think my point was... why would it make any sense to draw attention to the fact that I was around but not posting if no one seemed to care.

Announcing that I was around wouldn't have made it any less questionable. Yes, it can be construed as lurking. That's true whether I announced it or not.

Announcing it also comes with the obvious drawback of likely requiring me to then post multiple times as people question me about it.

Maybe if you guys want 36 hour day cycles, you just shouldn't be surprised when some people aren't around for all of it. Regardless of their reasoning. Had I not been around tomorrow as well, then sure question why I disappeared. But I have every intention of posting more tomorrow.
