I'm not sure how this works, since I haven't taken any ENG or courses with the word "English" in them. However, I have taken courses that do require extensive essay writing like Philosophy, Biotechnology, Geography/Development, etc...

Would those count towards the requirement, or do you need to take a course that specifically has "English" in the course title? No one really takes any English courses here unless you're part of the English Major/Minor.

I took a course called Freshman composition that satisfied the requirement. To earn my degree in biology two courses in English were required to graduate. It was a freshman level course and was pretty easy. If your college has a basic English or writing course that should satisfy the requirement for dental school.

Depends on the school. I contacted each school and emailed them the course syllabus. For some schools it satisfied the requirement, but for some it did not.

If you have any other questions PM me, I know we're both Canadian and so you probably have a lot of the same questions I did.

Nutrition courses may have some elements of chemistry/biochemistry/biology, but do not qualify as chemistry/bio pre reqs.

The thing is, the courses I mentioned involve much more intensive/critical writing then an introductory English course. It's like taking a Regulation of Signalling Pathways Biochemistry course and saying that doesn't fit the requirement for biology or chemistry. You'd obviously need a strong bio/chem background.

"Obviously" some schools disagree.
