Hi guys, would a D.O. med school accept me if I just get enough credits to obtain my B.S. degree the very last semester before graduating? And is it possible they will be okay with me taking one of my last pre-reqs while during the application process (summer)? My gpa is a 3.6 something and science gpa a 3.4, I'm taking the MCAT this August, I'm really more worried about the timeline here though. Any input would be much appreciated, thanks.

Most people apply while finishing their Bachelors and graduate in May or so and then go to med school in August. That is not atypical. Most schools, as long as you have most the prereqs done, don't have a problem with accepting you before they are all completed. I don't know about the summer thing, but I have heard of students getting the last prereq requirement in the summer before they matriculate in med school.

1. You do not need to complete a bachelor's degree to matriculate into medical school

2. You can be accepted to medical school prior to completing your prerequisites, as long as you pass them prior to matriculation

Oh and that, med. schools often state the whole 90 credits minimum but most all recommend having your bachelors done. Though I would have to really pile up on courses starting now because I am already lacking credits, people on the forums have convinced me to just getting the B.S., it's more of a risk not to imo. But again, thanks for the advice.

Right on. I actually already have an associate's degree, and I contacted the schools who minimum was 90+ credit hours, I was advised that to be competitive I should have a bachelors and that most people who are accepted at least have a bachelors degree---needless to say, I will have my bachelors in May.
