Epinephrine Reversal Effect

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Phentolamine or another selective alpha-blocker will give you a classic "epinephrine reversal" effect in terms of producing vasodilation and hypotension in a lab experiment.

In a clinical situation of reversing an excessive dose of epinephrine, pure alpha blockade would be imprudent. If the patient is already tachycardic from the epinephrine, dropping the blood pressure would exacerbate it. (Pure beta-blockade would be equally imprudent, for the opposite reason that it would result in unopposed alpha-stimulation that would produce profound vasoconstriction.)

The OP needs to clarify exactly what he or she is asking.
